Think Clio but with 0.1 litres less in the engine Wink Mike's old 106 is the same car.

My mate had a Saxo, was a fun car, very good offroad /Mellow
Mate's got a Saxo VTR and it's ok but it sounds and feels like it's falling apart when u hit 100+ lol. Not sure what the 1.1 is capable of though Tongue
well it's not a rocket I can assure you that but all I can afford insurance wise, cheap on fuel etc Tongue

Much the same tbh, very little chassis strength, but also light so feels a little more raw on the limit.
Cheap on fuel and insurance is always a bonus, how much is petrol up there?
in the north east (Newcastle) depending where you go it's about 134.99p per litre what about you?
Depends where you live, VTR's are known for boy racer like cars and obviously being totalled off the road haha some places can be very expensive, but they are nippy cars.
About 132.99p at most places down here but i heard a rumour that Asda is at 130.99 now Biggrin Then you get Texaco which just has stupidly high prices wherever you go, 137.9 there.

And the only good things about the VTR is the speed, handling and IMO they are good looking cars aswell.
Not bad the prices around here keep jumping from 130.99p to 138.99p and back down, they cannot make their mind up.
Yeah my old one was a Peugeot 106 1.1 HDZ (single point) engine. Yours would be a Multipoint though, I guess? . Probably still about the same performance.

My new one is a 1.6 16v which is the same as the saxo VTS and also the highest "spec" engine you can get at 120bhp.

The earlier Saxo VTRs with 90bhp are the same as 106 XS and I believe the later VTRs have 100 or 105bhp which I think are the same as the 106 Rallyes.

Fuel around here is 130.9p but I ALWAYS use Tesco Momentum99 at 135.9p getting anything from 30 to 42mpg depending on how I drive.
1.1 Saxos are single point too Wink
still faster than the clio Wink
OhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmyOhmy TWIN!

Is it a diesel though?!! lol Smile

Im looking to get a Mk2 VTR (The 100bph version) in the next couple of months. Posi blue is probs the best colour for a flatarch! But think Wicked Red or Icelandic Blue is awesome for the VTR/S Smile

Whats the mileage on it? Smile I got mine 2 years ago, Y Reg with 21,000 on the clock lol Tongue

Nope. Not all. In 2000-ish, they changed slightly. From a metal spin-off oil filter to a plastic, paper filter. Catalytic converter in the downpipe (rater than in centre section) and Multi-point injection rather than single point.

Main reason? Emissions Cursing A single point injection system wouldn't pass the required emissions that were regulated at some point in 2001.

I don't generally like Saxos that much, but I do rather like the blue colour and I really do like the red Saxo you've posted here, Ash. Ohmy

I spy some 106 mirrors though. It's weird how people with 106s like Saxo mirrors more and saxo owners like 106 mirrors more Tongue

Went away rallying on the weekend (1 day on a gravel rally & 1 day on a tarmac rally). Quick picture of the first time it's been in the forest. Tongue

Oh, fair enough, my mate's was a Mk.1, that's probably why Wink

Looking good there, nothing much to report about the Clio except that it's still running as well as on the day I bought it.
