No wonder it needed work for its MoT.

I barely drove before this year, but now to see most of my current social group or my girlfriend it's about a 25 mile round trip (on some of the worst roads pothole and maintenance wise in Britain), and with public transport being totally chuff in Cumbria I often end up as a taxi service and have managed to rack up about three times as many miles as I'd ever driven before in about three weeks of owning my new car Laugh

I began looking for a car recently, just for fun though due to no income atm.
The car ain't the problem. It's the insurance!
800€/year for a 999ccm 50bhp VW Polo from 1999? (Being a second car running on my dad's insurance)

But here, young people can be added to the insurance of their mother/father. Like me, once i get my car, i'll be added to my dad's insurance. I would pay +- €700 for a 1.9 Turbo Diesel. If i'm on my dad's insurance, about €500. Can't you do something like that?

My insurance on a 1L Suzuki Alto (R Reg, so 96 or 97, I forget), is £420.

That's with a black box thing from co-op young driver insurance.

Without, the cheapest quote we coudl find for me as a named driver on my parents insurance was about £1,600.

Wow my insurance is cheap compared to yours. Less than $800(USD) a year with 4 moving violations and a 1.8L supercharged Mini!

I was too then I got 4 in 1 year lol. 3 within 4 hours to be exact. If you evee go to a car show weekend they will pin you for anything!

Those 800€ are already if it runs on my dad's insurance Wink

Later, when I insure the car on myself, I can take my dad's percents so it gets cheaper as you said Smile

If I wouldn't insure it on my dad, it would cost me about 1.000€ Smile

I've put around 30,000km's on my car since I bought it in June 2011. This is daily driven and I do some longish trips to wakefield and stuff to have a squirt on the track
