Ok so we had this discussion in a college course. Very simple math problem but 50% of the people got it wrong. To me that says something is amiss so let me ask you gents.

1+1x0=?

I'll give you a hint its not 2. Lol

Wouldnt that be 1? 1x0=0, 1+0=1

2..? I would have thought '0' would be the most common answer.

Anyway, 1+(1x0)=1. The same answer as everyone above me.

1. beacouas: 1+1x0 = 1+(1x0) = 1+0 = 1

I don't know how someone got 2 but out of 150 people
2% got 2(3 people)
47% got 0
51% got 1

It's 1. You first multiply and then add. 1+1x0. So, what you first calculate is this: 1+(1x0).
That would be 1+0, wich is 1. So it should be 1+1x0=1.

Its 1 . First: 1x0=0
Second: 1+0=1

A 10-year old could have given you an answer, so what's the point in this thread?

This is the same as those pictures on Facebook with 10 gazillion comments.

Yeah but in this case you have to remember the simple principle of maths, the order of operations.

Multiplication before addition.

1+1*0

Multiplications first:
1*0 = 0

Then you've got 1 left, and that's basically it.

So 1+1*0 = 1
