Had to get myself one of these jets, but sadly the car didn't make it to the impound.

I see all the screenshots are 640 x 360 pixels. I figure that's the image which is actually rendered by the game itself. Kinda pathetic compared to a PC screen.

RE: Grand Theft Auto V: Michael. Franklin. Trevor. - Ras - 2013-09-23 13:49

Guess it would take ages to upload if they made them bigger.

RE: Grand Theft Auto V: Michael. Franklin. Trevor. - Chuck - 2013-09-23 14:04

Lol you really thing they intentionally reduce the image quality for the sake of uploading them faster?

You can make more money than that on the stocks. I'm up to 10 million just using stocks and I haven't even done the end mission yet.

Ingame resolution is 1280×720, on a big screen you can count the pixels.

Maybe its upscaled? I heard about GTAV running quite a horrible resolution.

I'v not been on tc because of this!!!!

Its EPIC.

RE: Grand Theft Auto V: Michael. Franklin. Trevor. - Chuck - 2013-09-24 06:14

Am I the only one having no map ? There was one in the intro level but now it's just a blank area with the location-icons floating in it. Not very helpful.

Some impressions so far:
  • Car handling feels close to GTA4 but slightly worse than it.
  • Collision behaviour is worse compared to GTA4. Other cars appear glued to the ground, impossible to push another car. You may say it's never been realistic, but that was part of the fun in GTA4.
  • FPS as crappy as in GTA4
  • Instant-reverse sucks big time. You always have to pay attention when the speed hits zero, then release brake and use handbrake to keep the car stationary. Otherwise, it'll blast off in reverse. So annoying.
  • External camera still constantly moves back to original position (as in GTA4). Pretty annoying if you want to have it higher to get a farther view, you always have to keep the right-hand "thumb-stick" slightly downwards to keep the view there.
  • Camera on the hood is now on the drivers side, instead of the centre of the car. Doesn't make anything easier or better.

RE: Grand Theft Auto V: Michael. Franklin. Trevor. - Bez - 2013-09-24 10:56

Chuck on GTA5 you have to load the map yourself like on SA. Driving around will reveal the map as you go along.
  • I agree with the handling I didn't like it at all when I first started playing. But I'm pretty much used to it now.
  • Collision behaviour seems reduced a lot. To get ejected from the car it takes going so fast in one the of super cars. (Maybe seatbelts?) Also don't like how you can hit a car and get no damage at all. But love the damage behaviour when you actually do get damage.
  • FPS is crappy i agree. Always random frame drops, but I expect this to go once PC versions released (If you have a decent PC) and the next gen consoles are out.
  • I would of liked actual gears to use in game. It seems they always go for the easier option.
  • With the external camera you can change that in settings there's a selection that says High or Low.
  • I like that the hood camera is on the drivers side. But it still feels like crap driving in that view.

The map is revealing, but only in pause mode. But I'm talking about the small GPS like map displayed in the corner while driving. I cant see any roads there.

Did you turn the GPS option off in the options? Maybe your game is bugged ;/

RE: Grand Theft Auto V: Michael. Franklin. Trevor. - Chuck - 2013-09-24 12:35

Well, I can see the markers, myself, others, enemies, targets etc.
but just no roads. Just those markers in a frame. Gonna make a pic
later if it's still broken.

Alright, got it. There is an option to turn off the map but keep markers. Not sure what it's good for cause I drove like that to the 1st mission, was utterly useless.

Lol , I was cruising on the highway, then a semi passed me with cops on its tail. I followed them, after a while it crashed and the cops ended it the traditional way.
