With much help from Elmo and Pete (thank you chaps), I've specced and ordered some PC parts!

Specs are as follows:

AMD FX8350 Black Edition 4GHz Processor
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970 Motherboard
G-Skill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 2133MHz RAM

All powered by a Corsair CX600 Power Supply, wrapped up in a Fractal Design R4 case.

I'll be transplanting my current graphics card, hard drives and optical drives until I gather up a few more pennies to replace them with something decent, but it's a step in the right direction so far.

Expect a post in the Thread of Fail when I catastrophically break something.

can't be as bad as my first build, I didn't put the mobo standoffs in and the whole board pretty much shorted on the case.
