His racing career was over anyway. He quit recently "to spend more time with family". Now he just wont be doing things like karting either. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Josh - 2014-01-16 02:06 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/racing/news/20140115/michael-schumacher-injury-coma-may-be-permanent/ I don't know how reputable Sports Illustrated is, but their post above suggests that Schumacher might not recover from his injuries. He was placed in a medically induced 'coma' but hasn't yet recovered enough to be brought out of it (patient's usually taking just 2-4 weeks). The headline there suggested it may be a permanent coma, i.e. he won't survive on his own. Time will tell.. people can be kept in coma's for a very long time, but as time goes on, the chances very rapidly. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Johan. - 2014-01-16 07:51 Time will tell indeed. Just as it did with our Prince Friso. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2390111/Dutch-Prince-Friso-dies-18-months-buried-avalanche-skiing.html Lets just hope that it doesnt take that long. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Chuck - 2014-01-29 10:29 First reports going around saying the wakeup-procedure has been initiated... RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Johan. - 2014-01-29 13:47 Now its hoping that he DOES actually get out of the coma. If he wakes up, they'll finally be able to figure out what is going on with Schumacher exactly and how/if he will be able to continue his life without too much problems. (Considering his brains did have a hard time and were actually damaged) RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Roba - 2014-01-29 15:11 Yeah, we'll hope he wakes up from it, and recovers with time... RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Warped - 2014-01-29 16:22 I've heard rumours that he wouldn't survive.. Well, we'll see. Yeah his family and doctors said that any source other than themselves is "only speculation" and that they'll "not comment on any speculation". So I hope that rumour is just 'speculation'. Media = shite RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Brad - 2014-01-29 19:54 BBC News is saying that the rumours of him being brought out of his coma are false and he remains in a medically induced coma -- stable condition. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Roba - 2014-01-29 20:38 Hmmm... I heard the news from radio today, and they usually don't report false news. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Chuck - 2014-01-30 09:51 There are more reports coming in, even if they're no official statements by the hospital. The yesterday's supposedly confirmed by one of his treating doctors. The latest say he blinked with his eyes. Edit: Now officially confirmed by his manager! RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Warped - 2014-02-23 21:18 German magazine Bild tells that Schumacher's awakening process has been temporarily stopped. http://www.bild.de/sport/motorsport/michael-schumacher/aufwach-prozess-gestoppt-34807714.bild.html RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Grinch - 2014-02-23 22:00 I will only believe this until other Magazines, etc. are reporting this too. In Germany "Bild" isnt really believable. I don't think we'll be seeing him again. We can only hope. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Luke - 2014-03-11 22:51 I agree with what Cola said. http://www.autoweek.com/article/20140311/F1/140319974 Just been published, it ain't looking good Heard rumours that he is unable to breath independently now too, hearts out to his friends and family. Hope he can pull through. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Chuck - 2014-04-04 10:17 Apparently, he's waking up! His manager confirmed signs of consciousness. RE: Schumacher is fighting for his life - Johan. - 2014-04-04 10:25 Woah thats very suprising! I really, because it went all quiet, figured it would be a quiet trip untill they pulled the plug. |
