+1, same goes for wind conditions Wink

Weather options (other than #1 Clear Day)

Kyoto:
#2 Cloudy Afternoon
#3 Cloudy Morning

Montana:
#2 Cloudy Afternoon

Sydney:
#2 Overcast Day
#3 Cloudy Sunset

Jamaica:
#2 Cloudy Sunset
#3 Overcast Dusk

Weston:
#2 Cloudy Afternoon
#3 Cloudy Sunset

Blackwood:
#2 Cloudy Afternoon
#3 Cloudy Sunset

Notice a pattern? They're all either cloudy or very cloudy.
As we found out last time we changed the weather, they're mostly depressing, generally have poor visibility and they get more boring faster.

Ones that aren't too bad:
Blackwood 3
Sydney 3 looks good, but the building shadows make visibility pretty shocking
Jamaica 2
Jamaica 3 is a bit dull, but at least doesn't have visibility issues

Visibility problems would be solved by a better lighting/surface engine and natural HDR (that works like the human eye not a camera), but I don't see that happening in the near future Wink

Would add a variation to the general dangers of the average noob wrong siding down the autobahn in a chase.

Another problem is that it cant be changed while the game is running.

RE: Different Weather Settings - NVK - 2012-04-18 09:22

It can be changed when track changes, problem solved. Smile

RE: Different Weather Settings - Chuck - 2012-04-18 09:26

Well, that exactly *is* the problem. "when track changes" means basically 2 weeks. Sorry, but seeing sunset for two weeks, even in morning hours, and I gonna kill somebody.

Personally i don't mind, since it's nice to have different weathers.

But i see your point, and i guess changing weather now and then isn't an option nor a solution. After a while, ppl just couldn't be arsed to change the weather any more, until it's time for a track change.

When it was put in last time everyone was moaning how depressing it looked and wanted to revert back, may prob be the same situation.

Not depressing, and if it's only Jamaica we occasionally do this in, so be it, but IMO that weather is amazing.

And so what if there's shadows, they exist in real life too.

It'd be nice if there was some way of changing the weather every now and then without anyone having to leave the track...

Ain't this just awesome? Thumbup

See the end of my previous post.

However, the combination of the lighting engine and lack of range of monitors and the graphics pipeline doesn't exist in real life. The human eye does a damn good job of seeing in variable light levels but cameras and current computer graphics can't reproduce it.
