RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - BP - 2012-06-19 11:26

It's good but very difficult, my trailer literally crashes into everything. Sad

And is it right that the trucks only go like 40kmh? XD

RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - Roba - 2012-06-19 11:49

lol It's not fast acceleration youknow xD

I like the hard mode tho, I like to do that kind of precise driving Smile

I wasn't referring to the acceleration though. The top speed seems like 40kmh (which is 24mph)

Well I did quite happily ~80kph with cargo on a city lol

Top speed is 90Kph ;P They are limited to 90Kph trust me ive had it up 90 with a trailer on Tongue

Unless you are using the H-Shifter wrong. and only using 6 gears and not the full 12 Wink

RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - BP - 2012-06-19 12:05

Why does mine only go 40kmh. Sad

There are only 6 gears right?

RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - Ras - 2012-06-19 12:06

There are 12 gears or something.

If you are using H-Shifter when you are in gear 6 theres a button you need to push to get it into 7th aka 1st gear.. and you go up again Tongue

Possibly shift up when you are in gear 6. then slot your h shifter into gear one to get gear 7.. Hoshi did it somehow I haven't setup my g27 yet it arrives tomorrow Tongue

RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - BP - 2012-06-19 15:44

I got it working on H-Shifter but it's too difficult to press a button and to go to first. Well, not difficult but impractical.

I use auto now, it's better than I thought it'd be. I thought it would be like LFS's crap automatic.

The sim/game is good, but I just suck at it. On every corner with a trailer attached I crash into the walls, lucky I'm not aiming to be a trucker IRL. Although, do they get paid a lot? It must require an awful lot of training surely.

RE: Scania Truck Driving Simulator - Roba - 2012-06-19 15:47

BP, you haven't ever really heard about trucks (btw) ?

And, I am aiming to be a trucker, lol. Currently at Vocational education for logistics, graduating as a professional truck driver Wink

It just takes some time to get used to a truck-sim. Might try it myself aswell.

My dad has been driving truck(s) for about 32 years now, and he finished for .. Something with a hammer / screwdrivers, but takes corners.. geez.. The guy who thought him the driving, and gave him the license to drive the truck, was shocked when my dad parked his 18-wheeler (a combitruck) backwards on a very tight place. I quote "Holy shit, I couldn't have done that myself".

Would be more handy if the G27 had high and low gearing, and half-gearing like trucks have (very, very very short gears so accelerating isn't slower than a turtle).

@ Roba, isn't truck driving the same as driving a car? As in, you take driving-lessons, learn how to drive according to the instructor. But, once you've passed the exams and things, your finally starting to learn how to drive the car. If so: how can you finish your school as a proffesional truck-driver.. Wouldn't you be a rookie before you turn prof, just like in football?
