It certainly won't be boring and the busy track will be more fun for all parties. We all want chaos. We all want one or two unbalanced rides to mess things up. We all want to export content to GT4tube.

UPDATE: I think it should be added rather than replaced. We need all kinds of tracks. YES to be added, NO to completely replaced.

Why would you even want to take away the industry part when your computer has already loaded everything in. Just keep it full and let players decide for themselves where to drive.

Imagine the new South city map and after a while there would be a poll to go back to "south city retro".

Definitely a no from me.

great idea, I think its pretty good

This, why impose unnecessary restrictions on people for no reason? Don't like the industrial part? Don't go there it's very simple. If you're having FPS issues on a 20+ year old game at this point I don't think the game/track is the issue(also players take up more resources that the track does). On the point of chases, I personaally never had an issue chasing people around the industrial area. If we think about it for a second Westhill Retro is much more contorted and a nightmare for chases (70% of the map is off-road), are we taking Westhill Retro our of the rotation too now because it has too many roads and it's too open? Forcing people to something just because you don't agree to it or don't like it is a sure way to shine out some of the community. I think people should have the freedome to chose where they drive and not be "told" where to drive. Bit fat NO from me

Nice idea +1

-1 If you want to use the track then go for it, understand that some people don’t. I think it’s nice to have access to the Industrial Estate every once in a while, same with South City as opposed to the “traditional” tracks.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Hamster - 2023-05-28 12:05

Thanks for the support guys.

Chuck already working on it.

Blackwood "Retro" has been updated in 2020. The road will go all the way to the roundabout and you will drive on the left, not on the right of the road.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Adam - 2023-05-28 12:50

I think it's great how it is, no reason to switch to Retro. Most people are on the track anyway but the industrial estate provides a fun place for chase to go, and more realistic roads for bus drivers and couriers.

With how Full is currently you still keep the denser traffic at the race track as mentioned in the OP, but you have more choice of quieter roads if desired.

You may think it's boring but in my opinion it's not.
There will be crowded roads, right side driving, a little bit other layout i think like in these videos... Just Look on these COP LIFE videos I posted links. It's so fun to watch, a lot of People on the roads W00t

The issue there is going to be buses and trucks getting in the way of chases and high speed traffic. We already have issues with those drivers not moving for sirens in time. To best solve the problem would be to leave all of the map open, but make anything past the paddock/pit area and beyond a no chase zone, on full rotation cycles.

I spent 30 minutes chasing someone back and fourth in the storage yard yesterday, not only is that boring for the cop, but my bonus was crap because its a no income zone. Needless to say he got a high fine hhhhhh

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Dizzle - 2023-05-28 13:43

-1 No thanks. I already get bored in 10 minutes on westhill retro driving the same circle over and over.

Well then block off the storage yard, or don't allow chases to go in there. If you want to stop chases from being boring, then blocking off half the map isn't going to help. All my chases this week have been boring clockwise round the GP track, only getting more interesting and fun if they go into the industrial estate. I understand there are buggy curbs, but there are buggy curbs on the track too.

Agreed, but it doesn't even need to be blocked, Chuck can set zones to be no chase areas where if the chase DOES go there, the suspect will get the "return to chase area msg" or get spec.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Chuck - 2023-05-28 16:10

Well, I hoped people would give it a chance at least. Whenever I looked on the map, there was like 90% of all players on the race track anyway, so it would be a legit question to ask why not just move the 3 players over to the race track as well and remove the whole layout which is used in the industrial area and make use of those objects in a better way?

And that is basically what the retro layout is about. Intensifying the action on the main track. When I noticed there is a certain support for this, I started working to get this config done as quickly as possible and it took no less than 7h of work. We got new businesses and new bus routes, so I figure there's something in it for everyone.
You can hate it if you want, but all I'm asking for is that you give it a try at least.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Ras - 2023-05-28 16:19

I can see and understand both sides of this and won't be voting because of this. I will give it a chance, but i'm not convinced how good it really is.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Cam - 2023-05-28 17:57

It's a yes from me.

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - Badkapp62 - 2023-05-28 18:42

-1 it gets boring so quick i'd rather watch paint dry

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - sakopl1 - 2023-05-28 18:57

That actual layout is great, but honestly area further than demo is useless and pointless. I am very happy with all the players on track and carpark, but the area after gates where roundabout is and all these logistics facilities are pointless to keep.

Doesn't make sense. If people weren't on that portion of the track, it wasn't a problem. Why close it and remove so much road for the bus routes and other activities?

RE: Blackwood "Retro" instead of Blackwood "Full" - bayanofmansorofisky - 2023-05-29 03:43

So this is basically another kyoto, just a circle.. Hell no

But these roads are already included in BL trackday. It not gonna be more fun the more often you drive on the same roads.
