RE: BF3 Bugs! - Pipa - 2011-10-29 17:22

Yeah seems there is no way. No lan support either...

* Pipa shakes head

RE: BF3 Bugs! - KaraK - 2011-10-29 17:27

Well that sucks.

FPS without LAN or Private Match support is not a proper FPS.

RE: BF3 Bugs! - Pipa - 2011-10-29 18:35

It gets better. I just asked google a bit what that origin is and what it can actually do, since the stuff in the eula is quite scary.

Came across this screenshot, which shows origin going through a folder of somebody's tax declaration.

http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/2691/fglehhsj_jpg.htm

So i got that program aswell and had a look what it does in 30seconds.
It systematically went half way through my first drive.

Seriously thinking about returning this game.

Heck, Battlefield 2 didn't even have a campaign mode. I suppose you could call campaign a little bit on the side. The campaign for this game isn't even particularly long.

BF2:MC has a pretty awesome campaign mode I think you'll find. Thumbup1

McGherkn, I mean regular Battlefield 2.

Indeed, but i found a little workaround.

Starting it in a sandbox with limited access does the job quite well. Still unacceptable behaviour from EA.

Never played the PC version of BF2, back then I got my gaming kicks on the PS2 (still do!), the campaign mode of MC is awesome anyways Wink

Battlefield has always been pretty buggy at release, but I've seen a lot worse Wink

Saddest part is, thats yet again the legal customer being the fool.
Everyone who obtained the game through "unconventional" ways is not bothered by those practices.

Thats what i thought lol, an easier alternative is setting up another windows account and restricting access to certain folders.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/how-to-deny-access-to-files-or-folders-in-windows-vista/

I did that now, as it is a lot easier and also the whole thing starts quicker.

RE: BF3 Bugs! - Elmo - 2011-10-30 20:15

When I tried to log in to Origin to install the open beta, it errored and told me that it can't deal with passwords containing special characters. So their latest piece of software won't let me log in because my password is too secure.

Go figure.

RE: BF3 Bugs! - bullet - 2011-10-30 23:21

Soo, is it worth buying? Be honest Tongue

RE: BF3 Bugs! - Pipa - 2011-10-30 23:38

Just had a fun round with rttnpig. He killed me twice(i am a noob rusher), but i knifed him once.

It is really a lot of fun and a proper battlefield multiplayer shooter. Origin is a big downside, but if you can live with it or restrict it a little it will be worth it.

For germans take a look at the amazon ratings Tongue : http://www.amazon.de/EA-Battlefield-3-Limited-Edition/dp/B004M17DVM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320018158&sr=8-1

RE: BF3 Bugs! - Malibu - 2011-10-30 23:43

Rushing is still better than being a camper lol.

RE: BF3 Bugs! - Pipa - 2011-10-30 23:46

There are too many snipers for my noob rushing Tongue. Everytime i have to cross a large area without a cover i usually get snipped Sad.

I don't learn aswell. Got sniped 3 times at almost the same spot. But soon i have this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsvdYoLnJUM

trololo Laugh

i think some people where a bit in rage about the day one origin crash.
Still its true: i think appart from a few bugs this is the best shooter ive ever played but its ripped appart by EA. I mean what must DICE be thinking when they see what EA did to theire creation Unsure Thumbdown

RE: BF3 Bugs! - bullet - 2011-10-31 00:11

No. As awesome BF3 might be. I won't give up my privacy for a *Removed* game.
I was going to buy it. But now as I think of it...
So I have to secure my pc against a game? No freaking way!
Why do I run a Firewall, Antivirus etc.? So spyware can't harm me. Now EA comes around with an epic game and totally destroys it with this origin crap.
I'm not ready to pay 50€ so EA can document all I have and all I do on my computer.
Now think of those people, who might not know this. They install it without even knowing what it does.
I doubt there's any warning written like 'Caution, this game scans your whole hard drive and collects every single information about you'.

Also, blood gets cut out (sometimes even in the 18+ version), but if there's a real harm, nothing gets done? Yeah, nice job!
I'm so sorry for DICE right now.
