If you have been crashed you go to pits and repair your car. If however your car can't move anymore or you are oob, you will get the same bitching as you do now. Especially if I'm making a cruise setup and I'm trying to work out the gear ratios - I have to pit frequently to make tweaks. Irrelevant as a Bonus should be a benefit and not something that you take for granted. If you want to tweak your setup nobody is keeping you from doing so. Yep, I still remember my 1,000KM XRT run, first person to ever be awarded the 1,000KM trip bonus! Tires last an age, 880KM's before the front left blew out through hillside (on old old Montana, first night that trip bonuses were included ;P) I doubt many people do 1000km these days, and especially not in one single play (ie. pitting to change cars etc) of staying on track the whole time. Tbh, there is already a safe driving bonus built into the core game, a fully working car. That' all the bonus you need to make it worthwhile to drive a little slower/safer/better. And there is another bonus that you lose out on when you go to SZ1/2 then shiftP, and that's the nice cushty tires you just had, they will be replaced with cold tires that need running in a bit before you'll get best performance, hell, sometimes it's a good 50km drive before the tires are truly up to great grip levels. I never shiftP unless it makes sense to, I like my tires, i dislike having to work them up every time I get nubbed out though. Pitstops ftw. |
