My KM Test Run
This is being done on server one/montana
Points taken into consideration
A) Car RB4 B) Staying within the 10% leeway C) Average speed approx 80mph D) No Copping E) Not Being Chased F) Fluctuating between +1 and +3 (from 50km onward will be +4 Max G) Using Mouse H) My Speed is NOT consistant I) Using ALL parts of the track

This will give an average value of what could be earnt doing a 1000km run and is in no way a judgement on the new InSim Update. Driving at speed limits cruising with friends/team mates is fun and you can earn doing it. Having had time to think about the new update you will earn a bit less and the element of speeding to reach your km bonuses has just been took away thats all. So on a positive note you can still earn but have to be more careful

Post Will Be Edited At every 50km mark from 100km onwards once reached that stated km

1000KM Test Run
Starting Money 141,301
10km 141,443
20km 141,594
30km 141,710
40km 141,849
50km 141,992
75km 142,519
100km 143,091
150km 144,252
200km 145,428
250km 146,610
300km 147,801
350km 148,993
400km 150,170
450km 151,342
500km 152,504

Money earnt with 500km run 11203
Potential earning on 1000km run 22406 to 23500
However this was fluctuating between +1 to +4 due to slowing down for corners/chases etc.
Conclusion : TC has pretty much been about how much money you can earn in a short space of time. Now TC is also about how much money you can loose too if your not careful and wish to speed all the time. So now its not as easy and quick to get your cars, you have to earn by sticking to speed limits and it will take you longer to get ALL the cars rather then have them all in a few months. However you can also make money with copping as you all well no. So to sum it all up todays km run took approx 7hrs to earn 11203 Euros, and stringently sticking to the speedlimits as much as possible
Was Fun Enjoyed Earning The Euros

Can anybody imagine why we chose to give out the max income close to the speed limit? Congratulations, you're a genius then.
However, I fail to see a real point in this thread. Is anybody seriously threatened by poverty here or whats the point? Simply saying "it yields less than before" or "I don't like it" are not real problems.

imo exactly meantoning our opinion is the sense of this Thread and this whole area or aren't we allowed to make a thread to discuss InSim Changes and write down / discuss our opinions?

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Chuck - 2012-02-20 12:29

Did I say that?

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Kayla - 2012-02-20 12:40

You asked about the sense of this thread, meantioning that our opinions (we don't like it) isn't a "real problem" ...

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Chuck - 2012-02-20 13:52

Your personal preferences do not make it automatically a problem, thats all I'm saying. All posts I've read so far were all about personal preferences.

@Malibu, why's not suggest a solution, rather than just stasting what has been said by others?
You don't need to tell me that the current system isn't perfect - in the same way the old one wasn't perfect for different reasons, but we have been at least trying to work something out.

I don't feel like finding a solution for a problem that wasn't there in the first place. To me, and apperantly many others, this system is way worse than before.
And maybe I haven't given a solution, but there's been two suggestions that are at least better than this system and still achieve the same goal.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Kayla - 2012-02-20 14:47

Which is where suggestions come from and the basic of all discussion, to have different personal preferences Wink

Define problem. The point of the game is to have fun, and I don't think you'll find anyone arguing that cruising is more fun without KM bonuses. I know that's been one of my favorite parts about cruising on TC -- hitting those landmarks.

Just my 2 cents.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - KennyAE86 - 2012-02-20 17:05

I'm personally not surprised by the removal of the KM bonuses. It was abused. I've been here for +/-4 years. Meaning, I've been here since BEFORE there was a KM Bonus system, a Cop system, and even before +5/+6 was taken away. I was one (if not the only one) to not see a point in the Bonus system, of course I didn't complain about it, just went with the flow. But the Bonus system was abused on its short 2 year time here. Imagine more AFK people on the server because of the bonuses, while other people that just wanted to drive had to wait for an open slot. People crying to admins because of "lost KMs", the !pitlane function was also abused due to the losing KMs. I think personally this time, I am with Chuck on this update. It was a good idea. I've noticed its the people that joined after the start of Sydney that are missing the Bonuses. But then again, some people that were here before Sydney aren't here anymore. Everyone that is starting to play on this community has it easy compared to us that played way back then. Imagine if the person you were chasing won't pay his fine, or decided to disconnect. Now you get the auto-fine. But before you were lucky if they didn't keep running and there was a non-busy admin or even one on.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Chuck - 2012-02-20 17:23

Not to mention that you wasn't allowed to pit or change car in the early stages of the bonus system. So no pushing back to safe zones, you had to reach the normal pits on wheels.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Pipa - 2012-02-20 18:57

Indeed. So how about a bonus run which only allows you to refuel once/twice, depending on consumption/tank size? That should be pretty interesting Smile.

If you refuel before/too often your bonus run is invalid and you won't recieve any.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - Malibu - 2012-02-20 18:59

How about a trip counter with bonusses that will only count distance travelled under the speedlimit?

You should at least give rewards to encourage a certain behaviour instead of just discouraging behaviour you don't want.

There's a difference between personal to a community opinion. Looks like a community preference to me as it's not just one individual saying about the same thing.

The community is brainwashed by the damn bonuses. I understand you all want to be rewarded, but the second someone goes out of bounds, the guy says can you pitlane me and then when the admin says no, the whole server says AWWWWWWW COME ONNNNN so thats one reason I bet they took the bonuses.

That is just making a big problem out of nothing that big. It's far from every time someone goes OOB with high km that people complain.

RE: Bonus System Discussion - liebestod - 2012-02-21 00:49

It seems like the only point of the faster cars now is to run from the cops, and then they get more money... they're really not much more fun to drive at the speed limit. All I can see this doing is limiting the amount of options you have with regards to play style.

Also Kenny I would hardly call 2 years a short time for the bonus system, especially when it comprises 50% of the time you've spent on the server, lol.

Though I do agree that the servers being loaded with idlers is a bit silly, but perhaps just make the idle timer short and always active. Problem solved!

There are really not that much people going out of bounds..

Anyhow, I don't really like how it is now. As in, you won't be satisfied when your having alot of KM's. It feels like "Oh.. right, i've driven this much already, I should probably go to sleep".

RE: Bonus System Discussion - KennyAE86 - 2012-02-21 05:01

The whole point of this server was to limit driving fast even though it is a racing simulator. Of course, you lose the "feeling" of driving a faster car, but hey, its the same in real life. You can't floor it constantly in a fast car, once in a while on an open straightaway with no cops, maybe... But everyday you can't because it will get expensive. That's what TC has been trying to simulate since there has been insim. (Also the reason why we lose money in the first place.)
