GTX 970 has been a lovely card... until I get memory issues playing games like Battlefield and Fifa 15 Tongue leading to the computer locking up and apparently "blue screening" took me for ever to locate the issues, it made sense as I could play anything, but not certain games for a random period of time. Finally makes sense after doing a gazillion tests and checks.. a month later. lol.

210,000 errors is certainly not normal for a GPU memory. Probably getting to sent back today.

Thankfully, LFS is not a memory demanding game, enough for the errors to actually cause an effect anyways.

RE: Thread of Fail - Luke - 2015-02-03 19:43

Believe it or not, it's not related to this. The card DOES use 4GB but doesn't use the last 0.5gb effectively nor smoothly.

Battlefield or Fifa, running in 1080p will not peak past 2.5gb or memory. The only time really this 970 memory "issue" plays in effect is in 4k games, and you would be daft to play 4k without 2 in SLI anyways.

The 3.5gb basically is not related to this particular problem and was confirmed by EVGA as it would be a performance problem not a complete crash. It's a situation people are taking too harshly in my opinion anyways as I said above, you won't experience the loss of 0.5gb without a serious rig, just the fact Nvidia lied effectively. It's still the best card bang for your buck running of statistics but indeed it could be even better. Smile

The joy of interesting insim decisions.

This is how far me and Barney were away from eachother when I, somehow lost contact with him. haha.

RE: Thread of Fail - Sadie - 2015-02-07 22:07

Or when the insim shows you the suspect is very close to you (50-100 meters) when you come around a corner and he are 500+ meters away and escape. xP
