Iirc the forecast of this morning said that the wind should reach its peak-speed in roughly an hour from now. So we're off good, for what-ever there was supposed to be bad. Glad my car went through unharmed this morning, seen quite a bit of wood flying around.

RE: Potential Storm For UK - Saphira - 2013-10-28 11:29

Latest TAFs for Denmark. Skrydstrup leading the way with gusts to 68 knots, Esbjerg on 65 kts, and various others on 60 kts.

The low now should be around 974mb. NAE have it at around 966mb at 3 this afternoon. Wouldn't be surprised to see gusts in excess of 100mph from that!

Update: A 50 m/s (112 mph) gust has just been registered in Kegnaes

The New Little Belt Bridge and The Great Belt Bridge has been completely closed now due to accidents.

The wind outside my house is increasing a lot right now. Almost full storm. Very noisy.

Update2: Now the mean wind in Kegnaes is registered as 38 m/s (85 mph).

This is a lot worse than expected.

Webcam from The Great Belt Bridge: http://webcam.trafikken.dk/webcam/storebaelt.jpg?1382969530604

Update3: Just now Kegnaes again with a gust of 54 m/s (121 mph!!). Highest gust ever measured in DK. *Removed*.

Update4: Power just went. Sent from phone. Crazy out there now.

Nothing happening here in Eastern Jutland near Silkeborg. We had a few gusts earlier, nothing serious at all though. It's said to hit around now, but still nothing happening.

Stay safe you guys who are being hit. Smile

RE: Potential Storm For UK - Cola - 2013-10-28 16:21

Storm just hit here in Eastern of Jutland like 10 minutes ago. I went out to secure the trampoline to the ground, when a gust hit, pushing me into the trampoline. Funny enough, I had just started recording a video on the phone, which I'm currently in the process of uploading. Tongue

A few pics here, nothing to serious, but still enough to make me not wanna go outside again.

RE: Potential Storm For UK - Ras - 2013-10-28 16:23

Most of the country except the northern parts are pretty much shut down. Noone should go out, police ask people to stay away from the PSAP (112) unless life threatening as they get so many calls these hours. Power cuts in several cities, scaffoldings falling as well as large roofs and trees. Buses and trains are all standstill.

Also just saw in the news that a child got caught by the wind so he flew down the road he was walking on with his dad. They got help from a woman they didnt know as the child needed to go hand in hand with two adults so he didnt get blown away.

A woman is currently trapped under yet another roof that has been blown down.

People are stuck in planes at CPH Airport as well as in train stations, etc.

Those who's trying to get home walk/drive together even though they are strangers and those living nearby offering people who live far away to stay inside with them. Really shows how the country stick together when it's really needed.

The worst I've seen in Essex is a few knocked over wheelie bins, and a few small trees on the ground.
