Hi TC
On another forum I'm currently using, there is a function where if a member post @Pete for an example, Pete would get a PM that he was highlighted in a thread. It works really great, and is for great usage if you want someone to check the thread, rather than you have to PM them the link and so on.
It's already a plugin for MyBB and can be found here:

Johan, the link to the mod says you can choose to opt out, so you wouldn't have to worry!
