I have a msssive house spider in my lounge, 3 months ago it would of ended up on bottom of my shoe, now it is left to roam the house RE: Tarantula Feeding time - Val - 2014-04-30 08:21 I would not like to see one in real life, nor go near or touch... bluuuuuh! Have you been bitten by this ? Does it hurt ? Have you encounter any problems with these monsters ? RE: Tarantula Feeding time - Saphira - 2014-04-30 08:42 I have had hairs flicked at me (uricating hairs) they do this by rubbing there back legs on their abdomen, and flick thousands of tiny hairs at you and they get stuck in you, its is sore but that is it, i have never been bitten and intend on never getting bitten too. However they can be unpredicatable and can dig there fangs in, i am very cautious and test their temperment/mood before handling my Tarantula's. If you get bitten their venom is very weak, at most you will get muscle aches and swelling for a few days, at worst you can go into anaphylactic shock. RE: Tarantula Feeding time - Stephen - 2014-04-30 10:53 At least you won't have any cockroach or ant problems in the house now.. Cockroaches not a problem, however Ants can overrun a spider within 30-60 mins and kill a Tarantula, a few Tarantulas have been eaten alive due to ant infestation the owner's did not notice, by morning was too late. I have precautionary measures around all of my T's enclosures so no ants can not get in. RE: Tarantula Feeding time - Cola - 2014-04-30 12:15 They do look amazing, although I would not want one on my table. That's for sure.
