Help with PS3 - Stevo - 2011-12-27 22:44

Hi guys,

Got Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 wanting to download the new content.

I'm using my sister's boyfriends PS3 who I live with on his account.

With the account being so old the card has expired but he has forgotten the password to be able to get into the billing information to put in my card details.

We then went to forgot password but it is not accepting his date of birth saying invalid =/.

Basically, if I signed my self up on it, and bought and downloaded the content, could the other user use the bought downloadable content?

Always been able sign in as luckily got it as saved password.

He went onto the hotmail account with password it should be and goes straight on but not working on PS3.

Any help would be great, thanks Smile

Though your profile says "UK", I don't understand a word of it.
Do you have problems on downloading or purchasing?

Basically, we cannot get the password retrieved (just trying to see if he mistakenly put his date of birth one figure out and see if can reset it that way) as I need the password to access the billing information as the card on the account is expired. So I need the password to buy from there on that account. What I'm asking is if it is possible if I made a NEW account and bought it on there on the same PS3, would the old account still be able to use those features?

Hm, ok, well I know that sharing things between accounts on the same PS3 usually works, I'm not sure it will work in that special case. Could end up in wasted money.
You could buy a voucher code and redeem it on that account instead of using a credit card. Thats what I did for all my PSN-Store purchases. I never needed a password for that.
Otherwise, you could keep on guessing the passwordWink or maybe that forgotten birthday is somehow visible from outside. (Friends, online profile, etc)

Ahh yeah good idea with the voucher code! Will go onto the playstation store on the laptop and see what I can find. I have tried the birthday from the email account he set it up on but didn't work. Also he tried all the passwords he could think of he had used but it was set up back in 2007 =/. Given up trying different combinations -.- thanks Chuck.

EDIT: CRACKED IT. 01 01 2007. No idea why he did it like that -.- getting password reset to email address then should be a done Smile thanks for help though.
