the renting should not be that you rent the some as you leave the pits because that the new driver don`t no that and i now someone will say they should reed the warning but they don`t.

so what it should do is when you leave the pits and the car is not buy for it wont let you leave the pits and you can not rent every can until you have 1000Km and it should tell you to buy one of these cars UF1,XFG,XRG

RE: the renting - Stevo - 2012-01-01 13:08

You know someone will say, but have they? It's not going to break the bank if they did not realise they needed to buy it and they are renting it just driving up the road.

+1 for a message to let them know they are renting the car (unless this already is the case, I haven't been on the server yet)

RE: the renting - LowRider - 2012-01-01 13:16

still it should not let rent the car as son as you leave the pits it should say do you went to buy this car YES/NO and if they click no it will spek them and if they click yes and they dont have a nuth money it will spek them it should go back to the way of the you had to type !rent (car)(mins)

RE: the renting - ChrisM - 2012-01-01 13:27

There is a message displayed, when you leave the pits, informing you, you are renting the car at x per minute..

RE: the renting - KaraK - 2012-01-01 13:29

Yes, but they keep driving it not knowing they are renting it. I've seen several people already, just driving the FXO, losing money without knowing they are renting it.

I like the idea of non-renting below 1000km.
+1

The message is in place so they have are told that they are renting the car they have left the pits in, if they don't take any notice of the message then it is their problem.

RE: the renting - ChrisM - 2012-01-01 13:32

How big of a message does there need to be for you to notice it though?

I just tried it, bright yellow message comes up. There's always going to be people new to the server who make the mistake, not everyone will read the forum etc..
Didn't they just make renting GTR's below 1000km not possible? Don't think disabling the rental feature is the solution.

RE: the renting - LowRider - 2012-01-01 13:37

its not the message its not new user friendly in my put of view

RE: the renting - Josh - 2012-01-01 13:39

You don't have to be experienced in playing on a TC server to be able to read and understand a simple message.

RE: the renting - LowRider - 2012-01-01 13:45

just make it sow when you leave the pits and you have not buyed are rent the car it wont let you leave pits

RE: the renting - KaraK - 2012-01-01 13:47

First time I rented a car, I didn't even notice the message until my chase was finished.
It's easy not to notice it. Make it red, or move it more to the centre of the screen.

RE: the renting - Chuck - 2012-01-01 14:34

Its disabled in version 2.01 under 1000km. Not the best solution but at least a step forward.

RE: the renting - bullet - 2012-01-01 14:37

I'm with Josh here.
When I tried to leave trhe pits with a xrg the first time, I noticed the message straight away. It's even written in yellow.

RE: the renting - BP - 2012-01-01 19:23

What if the person can't speak English?

RE: the renting - bullet - 2012-01-01 19:25

Then this person is pretty screwed on a server where all interactions take place in english...

You can do most things in the server even if you don't understand a word of English, but obviously this is different..

Anyway, just noticed Chuck's post. At least he can recognise the problem. Wink
