They've added some cool animations 'n' stuffs that made windows so cool, Cortana, Edge etc. I recommend anyone having windows 7 | 8.1 to upgrade!

Thanks AD! It helped alot!

The reason why it didnt let me dl it, was cause i hadn´t updated my PC since i got it (it didnt say anywhere that theres updates to dl.) So i had to download them first and then start downloading Win8.1

I just freshly installed the 8.1, and immediately started downloading Win10.

Hopefully it fills my expectations Smile

I have installed it, too, but does anybody happen to know why CS:GO drops FPS (not drastically) on close quarters combat? Moving the avatar also feels as though there is a tiny bit of V-sync while there isn't. There were none of these when I had been using Windows 7, and the problems seemingly arose when I upgraded to Windows 10.

That's why I am updating my school laptop first and not my gaming PC. I wanna make really sure Windows 10 is working proper with games, and that is not a good start Biggrin

...updated my gaming PC and regretted it but all seems well now. There was some issue running LFS related to DirectX.

Meh, having problems installing Win10 AGAIN....

Yeah, it DL´s the program to install it, i press install, it goes to 100% starts downloading settings, then the program suddenly closes without informing...

Goddamn, you.

To those of you who have updated, but regretted it, you can go into Settings > Update & Security > Recovery where you within a month is able to revert back to your previous version of Windows.

Does the PC not reboot?

Just did a fresh reinstall since the upgraded version was simply too messy. Btw, the windows 7 serial gets changed to a Windows 10 serial. I mean the key actually changes after activating. I've extracted the cd key from before and after the upgrade, they are completely different.
However, the fresh install didnt need ANY key at all. Afaik its stored in the UEFI bios, so the new installation loads it from there and activates it. Worked for me. Total format of hdd, never entered the key, and its activated now.

It doesnt do anything after the program closes.

I changed a couple of launch options, and the game seems to be running normally.

Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro to 10 but downgraded back again today since I did not like the Windows 10 feeling. The login screen is very wierd and seems to have been designed with paint. It all feels wierd, nothing for me at the moment at least.

Was finally able to install Win10. I had to do a fresh install unfortunately and this seems to prevent my Win7 Cd-key from working for the moment. Its a known issue and they plan to work on it as fast as possible.

Correct I'm asking about 3 individual hard drives, now if I can install windows 10 fresh on my 2tb hard drive that would rock bust as of right now I am forced to stick with the 125gb hd that came default plus my other 500gb(which I can remove I just need to back it up first)

I'll update my other two as needed

RE: Windows 10 + Windows 10 Phone Preview! (NEW) - Chuck - 2015-07-31 05:57

That shouldn't be a problem.

RE: Windows 10 + Windows 10 Phone Preview! (NEW) - Chuck - 2015-07-31 06:03

I did disable the lock screen btw. No idea why a pc needs a lock screen that is presented ABOVE the actual login box. IMO its already locked enough.

That way works:

It's for cosmetic purposes. You can use it to have a nice painting. Biggrin

when fresh installing did u just skip the key submission or did it not pop up? how did u read the keys?
had win 7, upgraded to 10, extracted both keys with
simplevbscodeinside (Click to View)
.
but now when i want a clean install it says "something wrong with the key".
not sure now if i do a clean install now, if i can get it activated then... or if the updated key was wrong and i need to go back to the old upgraded 10. or if this is just normal and it reads the key from bios once win 10 is running.

RE: Windows 10 + Windows 10 Phone Preview! (NEW) - Chuck - 2015-07-31 15:33

I've used this http://sourceforge.net/projects/ekeyfinder/

When you start to install you will come across the key-input 2 times, you can always select "skip" or "later", so the actual installation will ALWAYS work for now.
But you may need to change they key afterwards to activate it. Its all built-in, no fancy tools needed.
If you skip the 1st key entry, setup wont know what edition your key will be good for, so you can choose what version to install. (I had a MSDN DVD ISO that contained
Home and Pro) But be sure to pick the right one for your key.

If you wanna do like I did (upgrade, then decide to make a clean instead afterwards), then just click on skip every time. Windows will likely know the key already and activate automatically, like it did for me.

Btw, 1st thing to do after a installation (same as in win 7+8): Disabling folder type detction. It always annoys me that if you browse into a folder with music, all the columns are different, same for videos, pictures etc.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15699-folder-template-default.html

Use the 1st batch script (to reset) and then the 2nd to make ALL folders look like normal folders.
