No ofcourse not, They are 3 big muscle guys against an fat women, I feel really sorry for hear.
And yes she has a knife.. But i still belive they could have done it in a diffrent way.

Unless you are physically tackling her, muscle/weight doesn't come into it. The way she came running out of the car, straight at her male partner, it was clear she was intent on using the knife to hurt him. People being hurt is what you wan't to avoid at all costs, I don't know what else they could have done apart from shoot her.
