There isn't much to explain here, but what I mean is I would like the ability to remove a VIN from one car, and switch it with another. This means that if I find a VIN I like I can keep it, similar to private registrations in the UK. yay or nay?

Thats called "Ringing" here in the UK and is highly illegal Tongue

However I do like the idea, but maybe able to purchase special VIN's could be a possibility.

I think it is legal only if you own the plate afaik. But your idea sounds great too!

A VIN is not your number plate, it's a vehicle identification number. These come pre-stamped when the car is made in the factory and you cannot change them, unless you buy a new car of course.

A VIN is not a number plate, but that is how a car is identified in the insim similar to a number plate. I see what you mean though, but that is how cars are bought and sold with the insim, so it acts as a number plate.

Indeed, and it would be a shame if you lost that VIN due to the car breaking down so it would be great if the VIN could be removed but I see what Bez means about it being put on the chassis from factory.

If anyone is interested, the most recent VIN issued is 'ABJNF'.

Not sure how to work out how many cars we have solved, but im sure theres a simple way lol Tongue
