Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Luke™ - 2015-09-07 09:52 I've just got a new pc with windows 10, and when I tried to run LFS it said I needed to download DX9. I downloaded it but it failed to install? I don't know what to do, please help. RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Luke™ - 2015-09-07 12:36 I do not know how to find the error logs. RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Frozen - 2015-09-07 12:53 Go to C:\WINDOWS And scroll down, there should be the log. Also, did you run windows update? RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Chuck - 2015-09-07 12:56 Well, the text says "in your Windows folder". What about looking there? RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Luke™ - 2015-09-07 12:59 Error log: Windows is up to date. RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Frozen - 2015-09-07 13:00 Do you have .NET Framework installed? 2.0, 3.5 , 4.0 , 4.5? RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Luke™ - 2015-09-07 13:06 Yes, I don't know which version though, I would assume 4.5 as I got this computer yesterday brand new. RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Chuck - 2015-09-07 13:14 Can you upload those log files somewhere? Some other random ideas: Tried running as admin? Tried deactivating anti-virus? This is the error LFS comes up with: RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Frozen - 2015-09-07 13:48 Well, I've read that if you have Direct X 10,11,12 or any higher version it should work for lower versions too. Tried any other game which runs on Direct X 9? Maybe it's an issue of LFS istelf not being able to detect your Direct X version because you are missing a .dll file? RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Luke™ - 2015-09-07 13:56 Yes, I played CIV V directx9 version and it worked, I've also played ETS2 fine. I am not good with computers so I don't know how to fix a .dll missing file. RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Dracula - 2015-09-07 13:59 Run the installation file in Safe Mode / Safe Mode w/ Networking RE: Direct X End-User Runtime must be installed - Chuck - 2015-09-07 14:02 Try this setup: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Wierd tho, I did install Win10 aswell, I've seen the exact error message when starting LFS, I've done what it said and I don't recall having any issues with it. I went into the temp folder, and opened DXSETUP, and it installed some things that I think were missing. Sorry for being a pain, as I am pants with pc's. Thanks, Luke |
