Kyoto Roundabout Pit Box Relocation - Carl - 2015-09-28 19:08

So they are currently here:

But the space is too cramped, the pit boxes are too close and I don't like the idea of it being on grass either but that doesn't bother me too much. There is just not enough space, especially at peak times when lots of cars are in there.

I am suggesting to utilize this area:

There is more space and I think that it would work better, but give more space between each pit box, and not place them touching each other. Keep the parking area which is located on the grass but just move the pit boxes over the other side maybe? yay or nay?

Some time ago , it were like you suggested. I never know why they changed it.

+1 for it. Loot of cars go fast into grass , and crash into pits..

I don't know why it was changed either. I was in TS when it was done and it didn't seem like there was any thought process behind it. Maybe to discourage people from parking on the yellow cross-hatched area and instead use the car park? Anyhow, doesn't work and would be suitable back at it's former location.

Yeah I remember that, it was much better there than on the grass, however it needed a few tweaks.

In general it just seems to be an old lyt. The ramp at sz2 to oob, some buildings in the north area and also the bridge from chromo to the built gasstation/hw are missing. All nice features that didnt cause any trouble iirc.
Also that the jump from oval to infield got blocked was not rly necessary imho. Cops just need to calculate it and keep some distance like at every junction. Didnt rly cause any serious issues

€: oop forgot to actually mention "+1". Yes, we could actually need 3 additional pitboxes at the previous spot

Without going too off topic, I agree with you about the jump to infield, it would of been the cops fault for not giving a safe reaction distance.

But yeah, good feedback guys Smile

Meanwhile at the roundabout:

Yeah I agree, it's a massive cluster of cars waiting to go into the pit boxes or just to park. The other area is so much better due to it being such a large area of tarmac. Definitely +1 and keep the car park area for parked cars, not pit boxes.

Big +1 to the OP.

+1. Sometimes when you brake you hit people and they get pissed.

Big thumbs up!

RE: Kyoto Roundabout Pit Box Relocation - Ras - 2015-09-29 14:52

We are going to do this. Hopefully today. Thanks for the suggestion!

RE: Kyoto Roundabout Pit Box Relocation - BP - 2015-09-29 19:25

As a result:
  • The grass pit-stop area has been moved to the area you suggested,
  • The old pit-stop area now has some parking bays, and the garages have been removed,
  • The yellow hatchings have been removed as they had a counterintuitive effect on users.
That's a general summary of the changes made as a result of this discussion thread. Thanks!

For some reason, I feel like you guys are close to the limit for objects, and that's because I can't set up a roadblock with all 7 tires.

RE: Kyoto Roundabout Pit Box Relocation - Carl - 2015-09-30 09:53

It may not be object related because they removed the yellow markings and garages.

Good point. We didn't keep that in mind, so it could very well be the case. Will look into it.

Edit: Sorted.
