Lots of people including Lamp and I are experiencing problems such as 3200 errors. This basically means the apple servers have been overloaded

There's a tethered version already out on the redsnow website.
Depends on what device you have on whether it's tethered or not.
Tethered jailbreak means that every time you want to boot your device, you need to hook it up to the computer and boot it with the jailbreak app thing.
Just google it, you should be able to find something about this.

Got a 2nd Gen like me? They're not doing OS5 for it. I feel ripped off to be honest.
So, no iMessage, no iCloud, no wifi sync, no photostream, no notification center, no new Safari browser and no proper mail. Oh, and if you have difficulty seeing the screen, no accessibility features either.

It's 3rd or 4th gen. Apple is probably overloaded with people trying to download it.

I have a 3G and I'm not pissed off.
Honestly, if you put iOS 5 onto the older models like we have, the processor would just not be able to handle it, you would get terrible slowdown.
A mate of mine jailbroke his to the later version so it had multitasking etc and it takes him about 10 mins to do anything.
And there isn't any point Holding back on the new os just so the old ones can still support it.. That would just stop progress.
Quite frankly, you paid for the iPod/iPhone with the features it had. Any features added after is a bonus. Think of them like patches for a game. But if you want the new game, the next version, you will have to buy it.
As said, you also have the option to jailbreak it, but I wouldn't advise it, it will be slow as hell.
I'm just glad apple are pushing their software forward to match the hardware now available. A good match for the capabilities for the high end android phones, with that apple *something* (you may or may not like the something, but can't deny it exists)

Took me about 5 tries to get it to download.
Bit of a let down though. The only useful changes are reminders, notifications and iMessage.
