Build a custom build pc at christmas with 16GB ram and a big graphics card fancy case etc etc.

But when i go into the system it says 16GB ram But only 7.98gb is usable. Any suggestions on what this might be or how to fix it?

Also, how are your 16 GB's splitted?

4x 4GB?
2x 8GB?

What dimm slots are you using on your motherboard? Have you tried the ram in any other slots?

Dimm slots are the slots that you put the RAM into, if you put them in them in the wrong arrangement then RAM might not work... Make sure that you put them in slots 2 and 4 first (if you don't know which ones are which, consult the manual).

Just for the sake of correctness, the DIMMs are the actual memory modules, hence the name "dual inline memory module".
