- Replay Timestamps:
54min30 (start chase)
57min35 (the other chase overtakes me?)
57min55 (when i shortly read that i escaped, and see that i can't avoid the other chase)
58min10 when COP Poizon (abo 3omr) is back, and shortly thereafter i see that i am busted...?

Hello, some minutes ago i was in a chase on TC server 1, (12-05-16; +-22u45 UTC+1 Summertime), when i was passed by the chase in which Dizzle took part. At the Bridge East section, i just saw the message that i escaped, and got some XP (i think 66), but then the chase that passed me got stuck up, and i couldn't brake down for it (btw, sorry guys, didn't mean to). I realised, as my chase was over, that i made a big mistake, so i stopped, typed sorry, typed !sorry... and by the time that i was finished, the cop that was chasing me stood next to me and got me busted.

Is it legal? and if it's not (which i think it is), then i want my 412 euro's back...

thanks

Jelle

Edit: i forgot to explain that chase logs don't show up on the replay, therefor i think you have to check the logs (if possible)

You failed to stop (this is your own choice), then got busted and subsequently fined for failure to stop. Unfortunately you have no grounds for a refund which I will explain later in the post. For this reason alone, I don't feel it's necessary to check the replay.

Judging by your words, it seems you accidentally interfered with a chase/ignored sirens, so a fine would be valid anyway (as well as possible admin-action). This can apply even when you're in a chase yourself.

Some general notes, which may not be related to this specific case (note that I'm not saying there was an invalid fine in this case):
  • When a cop issues you an invalid fine, and you pay it, you would get refunded for what you paid (unless the cop voluntarily reimburses you),
  • When a cop issues you an invalid fine, and you fail to stop, get busted and then fined for failure to stop, you can no longer be refunded because the new offence is 'failure to stop' as opposed to the original offence,
  • The cop may still be dealt with for issuing an invalid fine.

I'll leave this thread open for a bit in case you have anything to add.

No, i did fail to stop, and i enjoyed the chase... but seconds before the incident, i saw the message that i escaped, otherwise i would have go on... and i don't know... if those rules stay on, then the other chase should also be fined, as they overtook me... seeing the replay wouldn't help, as chase logs don't show up there...

But many thanks already...

You were fined for failure to stop, nothing else.
See post #2 for more info.

We're sorry, but your refund request has been denied for reasons described.

It has now been moved to the archives.

Edit by Chuck (since the thread is archived):

Just a few seconds before the chase-overtake incident happened, you lost a cop that was trying to join:
2016-05-12 20:48:06 UTC One (Jamaica) *HOST* J. De Cnodder received 16XP
I guess you confused the green "+16XP" message on the screen with the, also green, "escaped" message.
