What's the point of having rule 3.1? - Adorable - 2016-06-19 11:16

Server Rules Wrote:3.1. Do not leave the chase.
Do not jump back to pits (shift+p), go into spectator mode (shift+s) or leave the server.

I think that this rule should be removed, in other games like CS:GO you get no penalty for leaving a normal game(casual or on community servers), I see no point of having it, but if there are any, I'd like to know them.

I've read in many other threads that there used to be a bug that rarely happen where if the suspect disconnects, It counts that he is escaped. But that's not the case anymore, it might have been patched because I've never seen it happening.

Thanks.

It's there to stop/dissuade people from ending chases once they've started. The reason the only instant punishment is a fine is because of cases where a driver is either sent to the spectators or disconnected due to them losing connection, timing out or their car breaking down.

If we allowed people to shift+p/s in a chase then the number of people insta-pitting after they get chased would rise again. This rule was introduced because this used to happen a lot.
