Internet issue - KooKoo - 2016-12-10 18:35

Hello guys,

I recently moved into my house after living in the hotel for a few months. I tried connecting to TC a few times but it keeps disconnecting me. I tested my internet connection and it gives me 7Mbps on my laptop but 70mbps on my ipad/iphone. Can anyone help me please?

Can you do a ping test on http://www.pingtest.net?

I think that your connection isn't stable.
You can check that with the results of pingtest.net
You need Jaca for the jitter-test, which is important in this case.

Good luck!

Using Wi-Fi or wired? (for the laptop)

RE: Internet issue - KooKoo - 2016-12-12 02:40

I use Wi-Fi.

How far are you from the wifi when testing? As far as with your iPhone/iPod?

RE: Internet issue - KooKoo - 2016-12-12 10:59

Yes my laptop and devices are same distance when testing.

If you click at Windows > Network and Sharing Center

The text Connections: appears. Its a clickable text (the name of your Wi-Fi)

If you click at it, the properties open, there you can see the 'Speed:' What value is filled there?

This is what mine looks like:

So, in this case, with the quality of my wifi I cannot go over 450 Mbps. Check yours, if the value is very low, that's the reason of your low speed.

Could also be getting packet loss, if you allowed java to run on the ping test it would have shown you if there was any.

RE: Internet issue - KooKoo - 2016-12-13 13:14

It said 72.2mbps.

Anyways, I really appreciate the help you all gave me and now I am connected with a stable ping. I just used an ethernet cable hahaha....
