Test Drive Insurance? - Ash - 2012-03-25 19:03 Hello Possibly going to look at a car tomorrow, its at a small dealership about 5 miles from me. Im potentially wanting to test drive it, how am i covered for insurance? My own fully comp policy does not allow me to DOC (drive other cars), probably due to my age. Do dealerships have their own insurance to cover me? How can i tell if they do? But, if not, phone up your company and see what they say. I'm under 21 so couldnt get any day insurance quotes, but phoned up Admiral today and asked to add the car I wanted to test drive on my policy as a short term car (2 days) and it cost me something like £15.76 to cover me. My current policy is on a 1.1 Pug 106 and added a 106 GTI (1.6 16v) onto the policy with no hasstle what so ever. I'm only TPF&T too.
