Account Verifications - Chuck - 2024-03-24 12:52 Important Information about the new Account Verification Hello, as some may have noticed, we have started to roll out our new account verification feature. Which was nothing we really wanted, but rather something we felt was necessary. The account verification has become necessary since a growing number of accounts have been shared around, for free and also for money, for virtual or real money. That created two problems: 1. Renting out accounts is a violation of the LFS usage terms and has upset the developers, who then reflected their anger onto us. 2. We no longer have the ability to distinguish individuals as people simply changed their accounts. That renders all admin actions pointless if bans no longer have an effect. Our admins spend a lot time keeping the servers a friendly and enjoyable place, and this account sharing has created a significant amount of extra work. Therefore we have started to disable accounts, if we have information that an account has been shared for ignoble reasons. Disable means we will permanently restrict them from being used on TC. How to stay out of trouble? Don't use accounts from anyone else. Don't give your account to anyone else. If you happen to own multiple accounts, stick with one of them. Declare yourself in advance. If you have used different accounts in the past, or if you have people in the same house-hold who also play LFS, please inform us about it. That way you can prevent, being suspected for account sharing or ban evasion. Honesty is the best way to earn trust. And most importantly: Get your own account We often heard that people cannot afford buying an account, but in the same time they can pay to rent it. That is contradictory, isn't it? It's not an official TC matter, but I know there are people out there that can help you getting your own S3 account if you pay off the account in TC money in exchange for a S3 voucher code. Similar to renting, but you will have your own S3 account. Forever. Ask around on our Discord for a contact willing to help you with this. I think this is the best option if you have no other choice as it satisfies all sides, and we believe it does not constitute a violation of the LFS terms as it merely is a temporary loan to sell legit S3 licenses.
