RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - Shoot - 2012-07-12 21:46

Hi Gas, I have reviewed the reply over and over from my system this evening. I reversed slightly because I though the suspect was slightly behind me and wanted to block him. Then I realised he had wrongsided the Auto Bahn to escape, Thats when you him me and the rest of the pile up. I immediately said sorry through my bind (Ctrl+F4). I viewed the reply from your view approaching the incident, and noticed you never made an attempt to slow down for sirens or avoid. After a member on teamspeak informed me I had been reported me. I then asked you why you had done this on the sever, you instantly blocked messages. This was seen from TC memeber Stephen. You then unblocked messages and I tried to apologise and you continued to be rude towards me. Once again I would like to take this opportunity to apologise.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - drifter59ru - 2012-07-13 04:33

at first I did not have to slow down on the motorway, this rule!
secondly you were moving on the wrong side is the main.
you are trying to accuse me in something? that's your excuse?
I was not obliged to discuss this incident with you on the server that I have blocked the message.

But you do have to slow down for sirens.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - drifter59ru - 2012-07-16 06:14

I slowed down but slowly. I tried to follow this rule: 10.1.2. Avoid stopping on the Autobahn where possible.

There is also no such rule. Nothing says you have a RIGHT to go flat out on the Autobahn, or any other road, without caring what's happening in-front. The AB is a road like any other road which means you have to operate your vehicle responsibly and with a speed that you always be able to stop within your viewing-distance.
Commonly known to driving-license holders as stopping sight distance (thats a link). The fact that there were multiple sirens on the scene make it even more worse.
However, I'm not judging on what exactly happened in that chase, whether that reversing action was legitimate or not, someone else may do that, but even if all other cars were absolutely stationary, you wouldn't have been able to stop in time, by far!
Even though multiple cars were clearly blocking your way, the replay shows you were still accelerating except for the very last second before the crash, in which you pressed the brake about 30%-ish.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - drifter59ru - 2012-07-16 07:36

I have not made a complete stop just because. I was worried about the rear of the vehicle in my back, as practice shows no slow down. later all will only aggravate the situation. in this case I was trying to gently slow down and drive around his car but did not guess where to turn policeman. I do not quite understand what you mean Chuck, but I know that I had to make a full stop. I just want you to have cleaned the server of the bad cops.

Had you looked in your mirror (something else all licence holders know to do) you'd have seen that there weren't any other cars behind you for quite a long way, so you could have safely done an emergency stop had you wished.

Thing is, you didn't even "try to slow down" until it was far, far too late and even then you were still doing about 90mph (145kph) when you hit the cop. If you had actually tried to slow down in good time, you would have been going slow enough to easily avoid all the slow/stationary vehicles ahead.

We are yet to fully look into the cops' actions, but the above is important for you to note, regardless the conclusion(s) to this report.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - Street - 2012-07-22 14:19

As Elmo has stated, your awareness of the road was absolutely diabolical. You not only have a minimap which you can use to see people slowing down ahead of you if you wish, but unless your draw distance is set to about 50m, you will have seen the cars from a very long way ahead. You let off the accelerator, but made no effort to brake heavily until within about 10m of an impact.

You have a terrible record for crashing people and generally misbehaving on our servers, including having your rights revoked as a result of
http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=3766
that report.

Which not only makes you incredibly hypocritical in this situation, but I'm also guessing you're slightly sore about it.

In conclusion, Johandyman has already had his rights revoked for an unrelated incident, and so no further action will be taken against him and this will be taken as evidence in favour of that case.

I will ensure Shoot is spoken to about his actions, and he will recieve a warning for this as this is the first offence he has committed of this nature.

Goettler is already banned, and these actions have been taken note of for future reference.

You will recieve a warning for being in breach of rules 1.5 and 1.15, and count yourself lucky that given your previous record, you're not being punished even further for a breach of 1.2, in the sense that your negligence was a major contributing factor to this crash even taking place in the first case. I'd strongly advice taking a look at Elmo's notes on this report as they could potentially prevent these kind of things from happening in the future.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - drifter59ru - 2012-07-23 06:28

I am not a hypocrite. Depriving me of my rights does not apply to this situation. I think that you are banal. I repeat, I tried gently to slow down and drive around the obstacle.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - Street - 2012-07-23 19:39

Banal? And whatever your tried to do then, failed miserably because you failed to take into account situational hazards which were presented to you through a great number of means, resulting in an accident that could have been avoided had you taken more caution and the chase obeyed all the rules regarding the autobahn.

RE: AB WRONGSIDE CRASH - Elmo - 2012-07-24 00:49

I'd also like to point out that you would have hit the cop even if he wasn't reversing at the time. You simply did not begin to try to slow down early enough to be able to avoid the blockage ahead.
