Reasons as to why you feel you deserve an unban:

Hello, i was banned for swearing. For the last 6 months i have sweared 4 times, I don't think any of them have been as an insult. If I happen to swear on TC, its out of frustration, or to have a laugh about it. I understand that I've gotten a warning on my screen to stop swearing or face concequenses, and now i have. But that was a long time ago, maybe even a year.

I feel like I deserve an unban because I don't insult others while I swear. I understand that swearing is still not allowed on TC, and from now on im going to respect that rule.

Thanks

I have acknowledged your request
Please be patient during this review, I will reply in due course.

Hello,

Thank you for your unban request.

The rule is very clear (removed a few irrelevant parts):

Quote:1.7 Use proper language at all times.
1.7.a Swearing, insults, racism, abuse and otherwise offensive language is not tolerated in our servers.
(...)
1.7.d Note: The most serious swearwords are auto-fined by the system, but this is only a warning. You may still get banned in case of repeated violations.

You were regularly swearing (receiving swearing fines) up until the point of you receiving a clear on-screen warning in mid-April 2024.

Quote:Swearing is not tolerated
Swearing fines act as warnings to not swear
Please consider this a final warning for swearing
Please review the rules for further information
Confirmed by you: 2024-04-14 19:12:49 UTC

You continued to swear after this warning was issued:
Code:
2024-05-19 21:52:29 UTC
2024-05-26 22:19:53 UTC
2024-07-04 11:12:47 UTC
2024-07-23 02:20:18 UTC
2024-10-06 13:02:04 UTC

You then didn't receive another swear fine until 2025-02-01 23:33:31 UTC
But then you received another one on 2025-02-04 12:35:34 UTC
And then you received another one on 2025-02-04 15:33:44 UTC

Note how close together these are. A ban was issued a little while after.

If a player does not improve their behaviour despite warnings, then admins don't have much choice but to use stricter measures. There is little point in continuously giving warnings if that is not having any positive effect on behaviour. We hope this ban serves as a real reminder that there are rules to be followed.

You mention that you are not insulting anyone. That's fine, but that is an entirely separate rule and not relevant to the request. I'm personally not seeing any reason why you should receive an early unban.

However please let me know if you have any questions.

BP

What would be the possible concequenses for swearing after a week's ban like mine?
Would the ban be another week, or longer?

Not saying here that i'll keep swearing, just interested in the rules Tongue

I'd also like to thank you BP for the thorough investigation!

RE: Unban request - BP - Today 13:43

Hi,

To answer your question: if you rejoin and immediately continue to swear repeatedly, then it would likely be another ban.

If it is very infrequent swearing, then it is less likely to result in another ban (assuming not directed in an abusive way). Also, older URS entries generally carry less weight.

Admins will use their discretion and try to be fair.

Indeed, the easiest thing to do would be to get out of the habit of typing swear words in-game. Then you're not at risk of anything.

Hope this helps.
