Amy Winehouse official death cause - Chuck - 2011-10-26 14:02

Well, what most people suspected is now official. She drank herself into death.

"
Recording a verdict of misadventure, St Pancras Coroner Suzanne Greenway said the singer had 416mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. The driving limit is 80mg.

I thought they said no alcohol was found before, but still.. so expected.

Though 416mg doesn't sound that much if 80mg is the driving limit. 0o

Does sound like quite a lot Malibu, she'd be a little bit over 5x the driving limit Tongue

Im sure this was similar to what happened to my grandad a few months ago when he passed away, he was driving far to much alcohol which poisened his lungs which caused him to have a heart attack.

Its happening far to often to people !

Well, depending on how tall you are it's usually around 2 beers to get to the limit right? That would mean she has alcohol in her blood of about 10-11 beers.

Yes, if all drunk at the same time, so none is absorbed.

Was it Bild.de, Chuck? Tongue

RE: Amy Winehouse official death cause - McGherkin - 2011-10-26 19:33

Why am I not surprised?

And I thought the limit was 34mg, unless I'm looking at the wrong units lol

RE: Amy Winehouse official death cause - Pipa - 2011-10-26 20:29

11-12 beers won't get you anywhere near close to 413mg per 100ml blood. Otherwise i could be Amy Winehouse.

It must ve been at least 2liters of hard stuff in a short time.

Two or three empty bottles of vodka were found in her house after her death.

In the UK the limit is a set measurement - 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. I believe its 80Mg for bloods, 105 for urines. The only influencing factor is the sample you give and amount of alcohol measured (in terms of units), no height, weight etc is taken into account although your ability to handle alcohol may influence your reading, but only slightly.

RE: Amy Winehouse official death cause - Malibu - 2011-10-26 22:56

The taller/bigger you are, the more blood, the less alcohol per 100ml you get per drink.

RE: Amy Winehouse official death cause - Street - 2011-10-27 12:00

The legal limit doesn't matter in this case (but simple solution, if you're driving, don't drink.)

But yeah, unless you somehow manage to down 11 pints in one (I somehow doubt that your stomach would be large enough to handle that capacity of fluid), you're not getting to that stage, as you'd get to a certain point and the beer would just be coming in one end and out either the same end or the other end straight away. Takes some strong stuff to get you to that level, because you need to get the alcohol in all at once and in a largely alcoholic format.
