Lets clear some things up. - Bez - 2012-10-10 22:18 Can someone clear this up. I saw Marek's ban today and couldn't help but think why and laugh at the fact he got banned.. He was banned for saying "2012-10-04 18:35:40 UTC - TШ×KoNG : Idiots that cant drive" Id understand if it was actually aimed at someone personally, like if he was saying "You are an idiot bez". But it wasn't even aimed at the person at all. I don't understand the logic behind banning someone for saying "idiots that cant drive" ... or even calling someone a noob.. noob means new person? its only an insult if you take it that way. Also did someone even !tc message you saying "cry cry marek called me a idiot" or did you just think "Wow that guy must be really offended by that... Lets ban him!" I don't even like Marek personally hes very annoying. But i can't help but think hes been banned unfairly for no reason.. I understand you should respect everyone on the server.. But sometimes i really do think half the people that drive on TC must be blind or something? Unban request post; http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=4691 End of rant -Bez RE: Lets clear some things up. - Brad - 2012-10-10 22:22 If Marek wants to appeal, I'm sure he can fight his own battle tbh. Its not just for Marek, Its to stop future bans that are silly like this.. RE: Lets clear some things up. - Josh - 2012-10-10 22:58 I'm not going to comment on this ban, I haven't looked at it in any detail and I have no idea about any of the circumstances of the ban. What I will say is: with regards to words like idiot, noob, etc - It isn't the word(s) that are our concern, but the way they are used and their context. They can still be used in an insulting, abusive or threatening manner. Another point to remember is that each ban is evaluated on a number of different merits; the users history (previous warnings, previous offences, how long they have been on our servers, etc); the specific circumstance.. and so on. He was aiming it to the guy who he thought crashed him, although it was Marek's fault anyway. It was in a malicious context, also. It's early. RE: Lets clear some things up. - Adampower - 2012-10-11 09:01 I'm quite sure that this isn't the place to raise a discussion involving the whole community when its got absolutely nothing to do with anyone else. If you wish to raise a point, create a PM with the admins involved and management. What I will say any decision isn't just based on that one incident, it may just be a factor. RE: Lets clear some things up. - Pete - 2012-10-11 10:32 No admin should have to justify their reason for banning someone to anyone else except the person who was banned. Keep your nose out and if you want to criticise the way we're administrating the servers, do it properly by PM'ing a member of TC management. Thread Closed |
