TOW Alert - Dan - 2012-10-13 15:36

Hello,

When on duty as a TOW, I think you should make it more obvious that there is a TOW Awaiting. I know it comes up in the top right, and a message on the chat about "XXX has called for a tow" but sometimes it's not very eye catching.

Something like a big message like in the middle of the screen saying "New TOW Request" would be great when one incomes.

Thanks,
Daniel.

I find it quite easy to see a Tow request pop up on the right under my InSim, I find it rather eye-catching to see something pop up where I know something shouldn't be. But then again, I use a locator after a Tow as it stays on, so a message in the middle of the screen providing name and location of the Tow would be useful, not a half bad idea.

The idea is quite good, I still often have trouble noticing a tow request just because it's such a small bar Smile

+1 on adding some sort of message

Or perhaps if a pending tow request would be more visible and stay for a longer amount of time. I've found that sometimes by the time I notice a tow request is there, the insim has already cleared it so you can't !jointow.

Yes I can vouch for this. Or it should remain the bar until you get within X km of the person who has requested the two, of which it will then disappear.

well for this you can also buy a locator.
!buylocator
after joining the tow request it will show speed and location of your customer until you type !locate again.

the tow request message is small, but i always see them when driving my towcar... but still would be nice to have some bigger message or only an icon in the middle of the scree

That's not what his post is about. He's saying that the tow request shouldn't dissappear after 30 seconds, but once you get close enough to the crashed person.

Instead of a big text, I will assign a sound effect to the tow call.
Users can overwrite their sound-files to whatever sound they like to hear (similar to the horns).

That's possible? Ohmy

Was surprised too. This would mean i could sit watching TV without worrying about missing a tow call, since i would hear an alarm. Handy! Smile
