Gaming graphics card - Ras - 2012-10-28 14:40 What would be a good gaming graphics card for this system? I've found that the GT 520 isn't really decent enough for some games, so i'd like to look into upgrading. OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit) Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Memory (RAM): 6127 MB CPU: Intel® Core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz (Quad core) Current graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 4 GB Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. CM6630_CM6730_CM6830. Power supply: Spoiler (Click to View) Budget: 68€ - 160€ RE: Gaming graphics card - Cola - 2012-10-28 15:00 This would be a very suitable replacement. But Im not 100% sure that your 350W PSU is enough. But it should do. http://www.edbpriser.dk/grafikkort/sapphire-radeon-hd-7850-begraenset-version-1-gb-id-6931223.aspx RE: Gaming graphics card - Elmo - 2012-10-28 16:08 (2012-10-28 15:00)Cola Wrote: But Im not 100% sure that your 350W PSU is enough. It's called a 350W, but the table clearly shows that it can only provide 300W total, only 216W at 12V - the graphics card uses only 12V and most other components (especially CPU) use it to a greater or lesser extent as well. You never know with this kind of PSU whether it can even sustain what it claims it can. I personally wouldn't trust it with a decent graphics card. RE: Gaming graphics card - Ras - 2012-10-28 16:31 Maybe someone could recommend me a good graphics card+suitable PSU as well. RE: Gaming graphics card - Cola - 2012-10-28 16:55 This should do the job. Also great choice if you're on a tight budget http://www.edbpriser.dk/stroemforsyning/corsair-builder-series-cx430-v2-id-5013540.aspx Generally, go for Corsair. For more detailed help or so. Try asking at http://www.hardwareonline.dk - Nice and good danish HW community. Just make a thread, and they'll help you. Most times you'll get usable answers within an hour or so RE: Gaming graphics card - Ras - 2012-10-28 16:58 Oh thanks. I'll try that site. Have been on it before but never thought of asking there. RE: Gaming graphics card - Crille - 2012-10-28 18:10 Do some googling on fan noise for that particular PSU before buying. It might not be a problem on that modell but it is on my Corsair 650W V2. RE: Gaming graphics card - Tom - 2012-10-28 20:50 get a better psu 500w+ then get maybe a gtx 550 ti? or gtx 6 series RE: Gaming graphics card - FR4NOx - 2012-10-28 21:10 (2012-10-28 20:50)Tom Wrote: get a better psu 500w+ then get maybe a gtx 550 ti? or gtx 6 series You don't need 500w+ of power for a GTX 550 Ti. Ras - If you don't want to get a new power supply, then a 7750 can work with your current power supply. It's a little close to the power limit, though. It's risky with a mystery brand PSU, so I recommend a new power supply. You don't need crazy amounts of power, either. 500w or less is sufficient. |
