Compass - Tommer - 2012-11-25 03:25 The changes since open-config came about got me thinking. !direction no longer says Highway 1 -> Devils, it says, Highway 1 Northbound Location names.. Main street South.. Main Street North.. Highway 1 South.. Highway 1 North. Well, where is North? Especially if you've a rotating map it can be quite tricky to keep your bearings in hot pursuit. And in my experience I've been thrown off multiple times where directions got mixed up. My suggestion is a compass. It could be optional or something you buy for 5k. It simply keeps you in the know about which way you are going, so you can figure out what it means when the !direction says the suspect is headed South. Or it says your suspect is on the south side.. East Side.. West side of the AB ETC. Below are some ways I think the compass could look In the top 2, the green represents the direction you are traveling, and the directions around it. In the bottom the red arrow represents which way is North. The Yellow text tells you which way you are traveling. And hey. It looks cool too Just an idea I had RE: Compass - Stephen - 2012-11-25 05:35 Set your map to static, and up is north. RE: Compass - Kyllone - 2012-11-25 10:47 I have always had a static map and I have no problem with this. But the idea is very good yes, I like it. But I wouldnt want to use it if I already know where I am going. So it should be an optional thing to have. RE: Compass - Chuck - 2012-12-21 19:51 Queued for next update (mainly for debugging, but still) RE: Compass - Nick - 2012-12-21 19:54 As Tommer says, can there be an option to turn this off so it doesn't display, or make it purchasable like the locator? The insim is already getting quite cluttered IMO. |
