Different sounds for the SOS and backup calls - liberto - 2012-12-23 09:18 Hello everyone, So I am aware you can't have 1 sound for each kind of SOS call, but here is my proposal and my idea behind it: Context So, actually I am playing COP 90% of my time (never do MED or TOW stuff), so I just don't care about MED calls for example. Though, the new feature that plays a sound whenever help is needed (which is a really great feature btw, thanks Chuck!) plays a sound whatever my job is (policeman, towman, medic, etc.) So the thing that would be very cool would be to have different sounds playing for each situation. That means that :
To just give you an example, I would reeeeaaaaally love to have those kind of sounds in LFS when someone asks for backup for instance. Of course, as stated above, I am aware this is not possible due to the low number of different sounds LFS offers, so let's move on to the next chapter : The Idea. Idea It may sound a bit weired, but here is my idea on this: The thing is that you could tell what kind of call should play a sound (like a checklist or something) via the insim. For example, as a cop I would configure this like this : [x] SOS police call [ ] SOS tow call [ ] SOS med call [x] SOS backup call Afterwards, it's up to the player to replace the error.wav to whatever suits to him (in my case, I'd for example use the first one on the video I posted here). Conclusion I know it's maybe a bit tricky to do, but I think it could really increase realism. Also, I haven't tested if the sounds could work in LFS (hope so!) as they need to have a very specific format. TL;DR Would be nice to choose what type of SOS (and backup) call should play a sound, to make the sound more specific to the situation. Waiting for your feedback on this |
