Next Speedlimit. - Chill . - 2013-01-01 20:02

Hello !
My suggestion is next:the icon flashes right of screen next incoming speedlimit.
Pic1 (Km/h):
Ive seen that idea @ others cruise servers (not WKD and LTCBiggrin)
Feel free to discuss it here Smile
Thanks, Chill .

Surely you saw that?

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Chill . - 2013-01-01 20:07

Yes but its different (mine flashes with speedlimit icon). Ive watched that thread , i became out with something more interesting me .
Its just suggestion . Ideas are Ideas Smile

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Kieran - 2013-01-01 20:32

Most people know the speedlimits, so its not needed. Also its just petty anoying cops who fine people when changing zones!

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Vincent - 2013-01-01 20:34

just watch the speed limit thingie at the top right.

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Josh - 2013-01-01 20:41

As far as I know you can't load images like that onto the screen in LFS (certainly from the InSim). Also it really isn't necessary.

FYI, this would be more suited to the other thread, yes it is a different idea but it is still on the same topic and could be discussed there.

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Chill . - 2013-01-01 21:38

I dont remember what server it was (speedsigns). But ok , insims are different Smile

Maybe, you mean something like this:

That is soo cool! Ohmy

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Chill . - 2013-01-02 23:55

Cool, TC should use that ~50% fewer traffic accidents i think

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Dan - 2013-01-02 23:59

With reference to that video - I love the system overall, I think it's aim is great. Too much on the screen though, clustered and stuff forever flashing would be too much 'in your face'.

Being mentioned about reducing traffic accidents, I don't know really; there is more on your screen, surely that's going to block out more of your driving view? Obviously depends on your screen size ofc.

Slightly going off-topic, anyhow, the "Next Speedlimit" idea I don't think would work that well; after a while you start to remember the speed limit, and can prepare to slow your car down in order to maintain a speed within the limit after the zone.

I like the idea of switching colors as a zone change is approaching better, as it fits with the minimalistic design of the TC insim.

IMHO, thats to much. Its already good now so i don't see why it needs to be changed.

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Tommer - 2013-01-03 13:06

I think that speedlimit signs are easily acheivable and have been demonstrated as so in the video above Smile I beleive it is acheived by using the 'dot' text symbol, one large in red, another in white slightly smaller ontop.

Alternately, you could use the distance markers in the layout editor as Speedlimit signs Smile

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Kyllone - 2013-01-03 15:17

By the looks of the video, I don't really like it. Tongue

As said above already, too much stuff going on in the screen.

If it's optional then those who want to use it they are able to and that's fine. But I don't really see this as neccesary thing to be done.

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Senfi - 2013-01-03 15:35

Is it not possible to do a local traffic light on every intersection? When you come there, the traffic light pops up like the warning light in the video. So we have more reallife in it. What about this idea?

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Kyllone - 2013-01-03 15:44

Trafficlights has been suggested before and if I remember right, got denied because of people ignoring them.

Aw Sad But this roadwork idea is cool Smile

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Lukeā„¢ - 2013-01-03 15:58

If we are going to do this whole signs idea etc (which tbh I am not really that bothered about) would it be in mph or kmph because some people would want mph and others kmph

RE: Next Speedlimit. - Chill . - 2013-01-03 16:06

Well , insim would have !kmh !mph commands then . ?
