Suggestion - Tommer - 2011-10-02 19:43

Could I suggest that we implement the old layout where we could see each team in the homepage?

Just means that we can see more easily each teams latest update.. Also putting in our websites underneath the link like before would be good. Thumbup1

Probably on the to do list, but yeah, that was a more preferred layout, +1 Smile

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-02 20:04

The thinking behind giving it its own area was to save space on the homepage. It may be changed at some point but for now it'll stay as it is, until we sort out other, more important things.

RE: Suggestion - Vee - 2011-10-02 20:06

I don't mind when it changes, but is lack of space really an issue?

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-02 20:10

We want to make it as clean as possible. Taking up a quarter of the screen with 6 team areas that don't all get used is pointless.

Putting them all in one makes more sense. That was our thinking.

RE: Suggestion - Kayla - 2011-10-02 20:13

I agree with lamp there, the way it is looks better and clearer imo

RE: Suggestion - Tommer - 2011-10-02 20:17

Looks and practicality are two separate things.. Often more than two teams have events or threads going on at any one time.. Will we be bumping each one to make sure it's link appears on the homepage and battling it out in such a way? :/

I just see having it like this paving a lot of issues is all. Also considering our teams are what make up the community, I don't really mind them taking up some space.

Small suggestion from my side: list them as subforums under each other? (if it's possible tho)

RE: Suggestion - Vee - 2011-10-02 20:21

This current organisation of it looks more cluttered imo..

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-02 20:21

Haven't yet found out how to do that Michi.

It'll have to be a team decision Tommer, I'll get right to it.
Basically, the common response is that they weren't used often enough to warrant taking up a large chunk of the forum.

If you guys want us to advertise your events, we can do that quite easily using the events/news/general discussions areas.

RE: Suggestion - Nitros - 2011-10-05 09:22

The current layout seems preferable. Before, the teams section took up such a disproportionate amount of space, to the amount it was used.

In fact, i minimised the area and never used it myself.

Considering almost all of e teams have their own forums, I don't see why they need a whole parent forum to themselves. From the index, you can still see each team, and go directly to it's forum.

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-05 10:07

Like Nitros said, this forum is now configured such that when there are new posts in your area, the blue light will come on. Before, you could only see The GLOW & 6S areas, now you can see all of them.

Will it be acceptable for team members to post in the Official Events area then?

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-05 12:21

No, because they're not official events until accepted by TC Management.

If contacted, we may be able to add affiliate team events to that area.

RE: Suggestion - KaraK - 2011-10-05 14:39

I can't edit posts in closed threads though. :/

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-05 16:00

Why would you need to?

RE: Suggestion - KaraK - 2011-10-05 16:36

Member lists?

RE: Suggestion - Pete - 2011-10-05 18:37

Why did you lock it? Tongue

RE: Suggestion - KaraK - 2011-10-05 18:45

So the thread stays clean of useless posts? Tongue
It's an informative thread, not meant for discussions Smile

RE: Suggestion - Nitros - 2011-10-06 12:31

Thats just permissions, not the fact that its a subform. If it is still like that, I will look when I get home at the permissions. AFAIK just need to make "moderator" able to edit closed threads, and it should work.

EDIT: Are you even the group moderator?

EDIT: Yes you are
