Medic: Close the Road - Morreboy - 2013-06-29 13:29

I think it would be nice for a med/tow/res to could close the road because when we are holding and its clear that the road is closet people still pass us and hit the person who we are helping.. I think that we should have a command, maybe !rc so there come a barrier and a sign where there stands "road is closet" just a little idea

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Marty - 2013-06-29 13:31

Actually, closing the road is one of the things a MED should do, so a TOW can do the job of getting the car up/ getting the car from the one being towed to pit.

To be honest, most of the time I put my caution on and help the TOW with pushing up, though... Rolleyes Wink

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Morreboy - 2013-06-29 13:35

But still it will be nice to have a barrier and a sign to show it´s closet

True that.
Especially only 1 MED of TOW is online (which repeatedly happens), it can be quite dangerous to TOW with only a cautions sign on, especially on the HW.

And a sign to show it a closet? I don't hope so.. Wink

Or make 2 kind of barriers... !rc for road closet sign and barrier
!rb for roadbarrier

A [TOW] should be able to tow without having to close the road down.

If drivers crash when theres a caution up, they shouldnt be driving.

My 2 cents.

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Morreboy - 2013-06-29 13:48

But can u then make a speed limit when u set your caution on? maybe 50 km/t or u get fined auto?

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Vincent - 2013-06-29 13:56

auto fined is stupid, just make them wanted for the police then.

anyway, a sign just like caution you mean?

A med/tow/res wouldn't have authority to close a road in real life, traffic police or the highways agency do however. If you really need a road closed you could ask a cop to setup a roadblock, and turn on hazard signs.

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Morreboy - 2013-06-29 14:00

Vincent.... yeah but where there stands ROAD CLOSET so people can see the shall not overtake us who are holding at road

RE: Medic: Close the Road - James - 2013-06-29 14:29

Not to mention, closing a road way would disrupt chases. So I wouldn't like this to be implemented.

Maybe something like this on the Kyoto oval but not regular tracks.

well, me too.

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Roba - 2013-06-29 15:23

Yeah, closing the road is something a police should do. Occasionally while I'm a cop, I park with hazards on on accidents on highway etc.

If someone speeds through and dangers the towing progress or hits someone, I will take off and chase them for it.

RE: Medic: Close the Road - railker - 2013-06-30 05:38

MEDs have access to the 'call police' button in the SOS channel. Take precautions with !caution and keeping an eye on traffic in the map. If needed beyond using !caution and situational awareness, then ask a COP for backup to put up Hazards further up the road. Also, COP could do so for one direction, MED can go for opposing traffic where applicable and help let the TOW do his job, if there is one. We should all be working together. =)

RE: Medic: Close the Road - Kieran - 2013-06-30 15:23

In theory meds are great, but in theory its mainly noobs who are meds and cause more accidents than they solve! And a big no to letting them have ability to close roads and allow slower speeds!!
