Joysticks joysticks! - Bez - 2013-11-03 19:31

Hello guys (and gals)

I've been looking for a Joystick to use with Flight simulators and I'm a complete newbie to this area of the market. I have no idea on what's best for the money or anything, so that's where I need your guys help!

I've been looking around on some other forums and I'm currently looking at the:

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro £38
Amazon

or the

Thrustmaster T.16000M £50 Chucks review
Amazon

So guys what do you think? Do you have any other joysticks that can match these for a better price or even better for the shameish price.

My price rage is about £70 max.

Many thanks!
-Bez

I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, but there is no way I paid £38 for it, that's quite large. I kinda messed it up using it for LFS though, pushing down too much wrecked the sensitivities of it so when I do fly, I have to calibrate it every time. It's also good though, as you've some extra button binds for LFS.

Got my G27 for LFS so I have no reason to use it for that. I just need it for flight simulators Tongue

Yeah as have I, but for those extra two or three buttons, the joystick suits it perfect. I've obviously set my joystick up for Flight Simulator 2004, I have more than enough buttons so. Just make sure you're right handed too. B-)

I don't know how what the currency is like over there and maybe too expensive (maybe something to aim for?) Saitek X65F.

Get a Cyborg F.L.Y 5. I've had one for months and I couldn't be more satisfied.

£290 for that and that's just the stick on its own Ohmy ....

Uh not sure where you're looking. it comes with a twin throttle and a button panel, plus the stick can never wear out.

I can even compare both of them as I owned, and wasted, 4 Logitech 3D pro.
They're nice, feel good but they're anything but durable. Back then, I was playing X-Plane much and I managed to waste one of them in less then 3 months. Quite annoying. I even bought the last two together and put one on stock as reserve cause I knew that day X will come. After that I looked for a solution and stumbled upon that T16000. Best investment so far. The base-plate buttons feel a bit cheap though but the durability factor outweighs everything. At least for me.

I do like the T16000 a lot but I think for me its missing that twin thruster capability. I've been also looking at the Cyborg F.L.Y 5 that Fatteeh recommended and it seems it has all the bells and whistles but looks god damn ugly as hell and so uncomfy.. They both come to around the sameish price and the Cyborg has a lot more to offer eg. adjustable everything to fit your had perfectly, the twin thrusters, the "bling" blue LED Closedeyes, also watching some videos it has amazing response time after watching some dog fight videos with it.

So guys I think ill have to buy the Cyborg F.L.Y 5 and give it ago, if its not for me ill just send it back to Amazon and replace it with the T16000 Biggrin

Found one for 324 Wink

You can't use the joystick on its own though, seems kind of pointless selling the stick on its own.. Unless the modders have made an adapter to use it on its own.
