Lost bookmarks

So yesterday I was trying to confirm something on another email; and for some reason, chrome wanted me to sign back into my account which was already signed into. So I booted my computer up a few minutes ago and I signed back into chrome; to find MOST of my bookmarks are gone, the background is changed and I'm really annoyed because this shouldn't have happened. I've looked around on the internet on how to restore it but couldn't find anything. Anyone know how I can restore everything?
