Colors change automatically on games/videos
Dear guys,
Recently, I have bought a new laptop. I bought a MSi Modern 14, but I'm having a problem with it when I play videos or just want to enjoy some games. Don't know why, when I start the video or open a game, the screen automatically change their settings of bright/color/contrast and adds like a "filter" on them. If I just give more volume or appear a menu from other program, contrast/saturation or whatever being changed turns back to normal. Here you can see how the game looks: And here one when I turn on volume and a Windows Widget appear, then you can see that colors/contrast looks normal: It's quite embarrassing because it looks a bit white and not natural colors. I don't know why this is happening, It has a MX330 NVIDIA graphic card, and last drivers, but can't understand why this is happening. Thanks everyone in advance. |

RE: Colors change automatically on games/videos
Check the last reply of this link:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...7ee10123b6 They fixed it by turning off HDR in the Windows Settings. |

RE: Colors change automatically on games/videos
Maybe an odd question, is this after 9pm?
I have a yellow filter on that turns on after 9pm against straining eyes. This works perfectly when in Windows, in LFS that turns off and goes back on in Windows. Maybe it turns on when that widget appears again? |

Take a look at Nvidia's control panel, you might find something.
As Marty suggested, it could also be caused by Windows night time lightning (blue light reduction), you can find that in Windows' control panel. |

Laptop might have come with some preinstalled software.
I'd first check out what programs are actually running inthe background. Here two guesses: Youtube: MSI® HOW-TO use MSI True Color Youtube: FINALLY fix NVIDIA colour settings resetting after restart |

(2020-08-30 08:13)Marty Wrote: Maybe an odd question, is this after 9pm? Thanks Marty for suggesting this, but sadly, no. It happens all day, and yellow filter it's manually off. Never happen on my other computer when I had it on, so I think that this is not the problem here. But thanks anyway! I only have the 3d configuration section. Anything else (2020-08-30 09:03)Barney Wrote: Laptop might have come with some preinstalled software. Thanks for you videos Barney! At MSi True Color didn't found a solution because I can chose a profile but the main problem keeps happening. I have disabled App Sync and also uninstalled True Color, but keeps happening. There is no preinstalled software becase I bought it without OS and I installed manually everything. |

RE: Colors change automatically on games/videos
Well, I have tested lot of things but nothing works. It's when computer get in full screen mode, doesn't matter if it's a game, a video, or Chrome in F11 mode. Happen always, and it's a bit disgusting.

RE: Colors change automatically on games/videos
Try to see in Geforce experience program - settings/general and theres an option "Ingame overlay" if its ticked on, try to turn it off and turn the game to see if thats an issue. Bcuz that option turns on filter mode. Hope it works.
