UDP Packets 'n' VPN
So,
Basically I tried to log into a server today. My situation is a bit of a pain in the neck, because I have to use a VPN to get around my Universities 'default deny' firewall policy. I'm able to make the initial connection, but when it gets to getting the Guest info's I get this message "Host did not receive UDP packet.". I'm a bit stuck for choice here, because as soon as I switch my VPN off I can't even so much as connect to the master server, but obviously something with my VPN doesn't wanna let this packet through. Oddly enough, I'm set to connect to everything via UDP, so I'm not sure why this causes such a fuss. Take a look at my settings; Perhaps anyone knows a way around such technicalities? :/ Hope everything's going well with the CityDriving Crew these days - Tommer |

RE: UDP Packets 'n' VPN
Hello,
I'm not sure which type of VPN do you have. But in the case you want to use the VPN for gaming , Skype or another stuff, you will need a SSTP - VPN Quote:(SSTP) is a form of VPN tunnel that provides a mechanism to transport PPP or L2TP traffic through an SSL 3.0 channel. SSL provides transport-level security with key-negotiation, encryption and traffic integrity checking. The use of SSL over TCP port 443 allows SSTP to pass through virtually all firewalls and proxy servers except for authenticated web proxies. Probably your vpn is not SSTP, which means that it has a firewall which blocks all the ports needed to make the connection between you and the LFS Master Server, therefore you shouldn't be able to load lfsworld or lfsworld remote neither ( I believe ) . If you can contact me via PM , i can provide you a UK SSTP VPN which I used too for gaming and which surely works with you. - Frozen |

RE: UDP Packets 'n' VPN
I'm able to make a connection with the master server when the VPN is on, oddly enough. Having my VPN on was enough for Skype and Steam aswell, lfs is the first problem i've encountered.
I'll fire you a PM |
