RE: X-Plane 11
How does Xplane compare to Flight sim in realism and graphics?

RE: X-Plane 11
Got X-Plane 11 recently and these are all my shots so far. I'm purely doing GA flights and i'm on something called fseconomy.net which i do jobs on. Still new to flight sims. Did a bit of FSX at one point but decided that it was time to be on X-Plane.

I've tried some other networks in the past, IVAO (iirc), but I'm not much interested in practising radio communication. Those networks are also way too bureaucratic and the actual network performance was rather bad. Laggy and choppers appear as commuter jets. Pretty annoying. X-Plane is lacking a decent multiplayer mode that deserves the name. Some pics: Stock MD82 plane final approach on EDDL. Some free jet I found at xplane.org, somewhere northern Italy iirc. My favourite planes are the MD82, the Cessna 172 and the jet in the image above. |

RE: X-Plane 11
Ah well, here comes the bureaucracy:
So no quick visit to the Ayers Rock with a friend without actually flying around the earth. How annoying. Isn't there a multiplayer network where you can JUST FLY without getting bullied? |

RE: X-Plane 11
curious... no cockpit shots? how is aircraft functionality? i was flying fsx a few years back.. mostly boeing 738(pmdg) and f-16(iris) apart from some weather limitations(with reguards to gusts and stuff) it was very nice..
there are 3 things you have to do to properly fly aircraft. 1.Aviate: fly the aircraft (knowledge of systems required to a an extend) 2.Navigate: have location awearness and ability to navigate either by visual(rare on sim) or by insturment(almost always) flight rules [reqires knowledge of the aircraft avionics and usualy some reading in order to read and execute a flightplan -with real limitations such as noise abandment or low visibility procedures-] 3.Communicate: as per real aviators, e-pilots are required to send flightplan, get clearance for various procedures, receive and follow instructions and more.. all this is being done by Voice 90% of the time.. radio communication terminology-phraseology is used as in real operation. VATSIM doesn't require you to fly 10hrs just to visit a friend and fly together BUT you are expected to keep IFR/VFR rules and if a controller comes online in your area(the area he controls) are expected to comply with his directions (which implies that you know how to fly and navigate with the aircraft of your choice and know how to speak and reply to the controller) if you want something quick try vpn and lan settings.. these are RULES, just as you expect people on TC to follow our-your rules you are expected to follow their rules |
