Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
I was thinking it would be cool to initiate a chase from behind, for example if someone was drifting behind you.
However after much thinking, the insim would not know which to chose if there were a car front and back. You would be unable to record speeds from the rear may I add. is there anyway around this? |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
Is this really necessary? Its easier to just turn around or wait for the suspect to pass you.
Nice but needless. |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
Not if the suspect decides to follow in behind you and when you proceed to perform a u turn they simply follow you, keeping their car behind yours. Another scenario is that the suspect shift+p's when they realise they are in trouble.
Which is why I suggested this http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthre...?tid=17538 a short while ago. |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
I agreed with Thomas with his previous suggestion and I'd agree with this one too. There are too many people that get away with this when they see the COP in front of them pulls over to let them past and just avoid the COP.
You can see this in real life when police tell you to pull over when in front of you, as seen in various pictures in the thread Thomas linked in his post. Beneficial and practical. |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
I agree with being able to initiate chase to vehicles behind you.
Ive been wanting to make a suggestion thread but there are already several regarding police systems so I will give it here. Systems should be changable to initiate chases to the vehicle infront of you or behind you. A command for example to switch the tracker from front to back. Id also like to see the ability to switch laser from drivers infront of you, to oncoming traffic. Speedtraps have recently drove me a bit insane ruining chases for me. A speedtrap should clock speed and allow officers to pursue the driver. Not automatically fining people and sending the money into the sky for the birds to feed on. |

Maybe because it's a really big change to the gameplay and a ton of coding work for Chuck for something that can be ruled out as "Bad luck" if the suspect trolls you. If you can't turn around in time or the suspect refuses to pass you, your fault for not acting quick enough or in the right way to be able to !chase. |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
Being able to chase someone immediately as they approach from behind is not ideal in my opinion. However, I like the option of being able to chase a user who is behind you for whatever reason.
I'm a little unsure on this. Thomas's idea has my vote because, !follow is a very important command yet nobody uses it due to the risks that follow with it. The Autobahn is a great example or a highway in general where it's unsafe to just slow down and let them overtake to initiate a chase, so you could request them to follow you off to the next junction but it can be a little awkward from there to chase them as you are in front of them the whole time, practically making the useful !follow command... useless.. If follow is engaged, LEAS should track the vehicle behind giving you the option to !chase if the vehicle fails to correspond, that's what I'd strongly suggest. |

I'm not 100% sure on the parameters of it, but I believe it works in a similar way to caution so if you are within a certain distance of the cop with !follow active, it will be visible to you. Saying that, the only time I've ever seen !follow is when I have been behind a cop, so I could be wrong or the distance is very low. |

RE: Being able to initiate a chase from behind.
I have been using '!follow' command here and there, and as far as i know it works like a hazard but in a specific width of radius. Correct me if i am wrong.
Chasing someone who is at the back of you can be a pain if the suspect is failing to overtake or doesn't want to get chased. I would like this to be added. +1 |

Would be nice and simple to modify. With !stop it starts the chase automaticly and with !follow it starts the chase automaticly.
Nice memories last year |

Did he pull you over for using your phone while driving? xD On Topic: I am using the !follow a lot, and mostly for giving warnings as you almost all the times end up pulling over with the suspects behind you, the problem is you cannot fine them then. That is really anoying. |

No the picture is made from a friend of my. I got picked out with a ANPR trap. The registration of the pickup truck was wrong. Not our fault, still had to pay € 420,-
