Administration problem
Hi, I apologize if this is an improper place to start this discussion, I couldn't find a better place.
Yesterday, I received a confirm-able warning pop-up regarding a claim of driving wrong way on the autobahn. The admin who made this warning prompt didn't speak to me at all or attempt to raise my awareness to such a problem by using a softer method, instead they decided to silently place a warning on me that is now on my record. They also did not define when the offense occurred. I find this was unprofessional and should have been handled differently. I am a long-time player and I am aware of the rules. This isn't to say I don't make a mistake now and then, however, I am easily corrected by some simple communication. In addition, I see ban lengths recently are longer than I would find reasonable, for what I would judge as minor issues that could be talked out, or are first, or rare offenses. The admins don't seem to want to put effort into trying to communicate a problem away before they're pressing the ban button. I send this with sincerity in hopes TC Admin leadership takes note and pays more attention to these items and how their admins are choosing to handle incidents. Thank you. |

The outcome would still be the same, a warning for driving wrong-way down the autobahn with traffic heading towards you. |

RE: Administration problem
If you have been driving on TC for so long and know the rules, why should he still speak to you about it? The warning is justified

Next time just !pitlane hhhhhhh In all seriousness though, one time I was being talked to by Josh, but being a busy time of day in the server and me being oblivious or probably still just sipping my coffee trying to wake up, i didn't see the fact he was trying to talk to me, so he eventually pitlaned me to get my attention, which it worked. |

RE: Administration problem
I’m sure the admin team doesn’t need advice on what to do. The outcome would be the same. Just because it is confirmed on screen versus being told in chat is no different. Both are confirmable warnings.
So his complaint is useless. Pro tip - don’t drive your bike wrong way down autobahn towards traffic then be mad that a warning was given. |

RE: Administration problem
This sounds more like a YOU problem not an administration one.

RE: Administration problem
I'm just curious about this.
Don't you think it's better to have the warning on your screen instead of speaking openly in front of everyone? I mean, as far as I read, you have encountered a situation that you cannot explain. If I were in this situation, I would prefer a warning that only I could see. |

RE: Administration problem
In addition to what has already been mentioned:
The on-screen (commonly known as confirmable) warning provides the name of the admin. If you received such a warning you can contact the admin if you require further clarification. I wouldn't have thought this was necessary as you state you are a long-time player who has apparently broken a fairly basic rule. As well as expressing dissatisfaction about your warning, you have mentioned that you are unhappy about some perceived excessive ban lengths against other players. You have asked leadership to address this, however please be advised you have not provided any particular username or scenario to review. However typically the person actually involved would follow the normal unban request/appeal procedure if they are unhappy. Please be reminded that non-admins do not necessarily have all the relevant information that is taken into account when deciding ban lengths. Hopefully my reply and the reply of several others has helped you. BP |

RE: Administration problem
Yes, I don't think the warning is justified if the admin didn't engage in a dialog. BUT, I consider it a waste of time to have an experienced player commit a rule violation and then talk about it.
But to be honest, you need to be aware of what you did (if you do) wrong in the game before the warning comes to your screen. |

Just to make it clear, we DO log verbal warnings in the users record (URS) in exactly the same manner a dialog pop-up style warning is also recorded. So if you didn't believe a warning isn't justified from the point of view that one is permanently logged and the other isn't, then that is not the case. |

Most situations are not "press the ban button and be done with it". Some are yes, but most aren't. This is my 2 cents as someone who's been in the team in the past at various ranks up to and including leader. All previous admin action taken against you, whether it's fines, written or verbal warnings, general notes about behavior, bans, kicks etc are all logged. This information, the severity of the offence and the age of the account are some of the main things taken into account when issuing punishments. (or they were when I was in the team but that was a long time ago, things may and probably have changed since then) Sometimes a simple PM saying "Pull over a sec please, I need to talk to you" does the trick. |
