Outerra
I'm not sure how well heard of this is yet, but if it's as good as it looks, you should all know about it.
I'm talking about Outerra, the indie development that provides immaculate 3D rendering of the world, and lets you explore it. Quote:3D planetary engine for seamless planet rendering from space down to the surface. Can use arbitrary resolution of elevation data, refining it to centimeter resolution using fractal algorithms. If you still aren't too interested, take a look at these videos. Set it to HD, give it a while to load if you need to. I'll let you explore the rest, because I'm going to go and play the Alpha instead. That's right, you can play it too! The alpha was released >here< and you can visit the main website >here< This is mainly an engine, so imagine what the possibilities are if some decent game programmers get their hands on it (ScaViEr giving us proper open config? *ahem*) Anyways, it's only an Alpha, and it still looks bloody epic, so here's to hoping it takes off! Cheers, Nick. |

RE: Outerra
Dont forget its just an 3d rendering engine. It's not a real game yet.
