RE: Being a COP.
I'm here since nearly the begining of time and I'm still having my nub moves pointed out to me. Lost count of the amount of 'Tommer u nub' 's over the years. xD
My suggestion is give it time. Chases by nature can be high stress environments espescially if that cops been nipping at the suspects rear hind for 30mins+ with all the usual near misses, close calls, near heart-attacks that come with a server filled with human beings who make mistakes. If you struggle to keep the pace, my best advice for you is to take some turns wide and slow, let the faster guys pass, and follow their lead. Get used to the pace, the lines that everyone takes. Over time you'll gain the confidence and authority to be taking the cop 1 position in the chase and staying there but that really is something earnt with skill and practise, otherwise you should aim to let the fasters behind you past (I still do that today!), otherwise there head'sll start to fry as they're held up and watch the suspect get away With that said, there is no excuse for insulting new drivers, regardless of how stressful or adrenaline fueled the chase might be. I am guilty of on the odd occassion losing my head but it is not right to do so and I will take my punishment as should any other cop who does start insulting etc. Report as necessary, don't feel bad for it. |

If needed, make a new one in the suitable area. This particular forum (Help Requests & Tech Support) would be fine. Just a heads up for next time. |

RE: Being a COP.
Cherry everyone here given you a good advice i am sure you are an awesome cop and the others are just jealous of you being so good but if someone abuses you report is the best thing to do. If TC member is not online or on the specific TC server you are on no matter what server it is 1 or 2 abusing is not allowed and will be dealt with by the TC Admins or Staff keep your head up and don't let them drag you down! wish you all the best in the future hope seeing you soon

RE: Being a COP.
Don't blame the test or anyone else than yourself. If you failed, you didn't study the rules properly enough. Obviously we've made sure the questions and answers are correct, and fit the rules.
No one forces you to stay by the way. You are free to leave, and if you do we are sorry about it, but people are here of their own free will. |

The test will reset and give you another chance every 7 days, if you read up on the cop rules and make sure you have fully read the info on the insim update found here: http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthre...?tid=11843 You will hopefully pass next time and be able to cop on the servers again. The point of these test are to ensure that people like yourself are aware of the rules and regulations of doing the jobs here, they are not designed to annoy or frustrate you. If you get annoyed and simply give up, you will not get a cop license however if you re-read the rules and cop guides you may be able to pass the tests. Note: You are allowed to use the guides and rules to help in the tests. |

RE: Being a COP.
I agree with Howlin completely. They are there to help people to get to grips with the COP rules and regulations and to make the best cops possible.
It's not solely down to the training team to make you a good cop, you've got to put some work and effort in too! |

Also, you weren't the only one losing the test. There were tens of people losing it including you. Cherry Wrote:Yes, I was mad at the New InSim update. 100% the worst update I ever saw, But this post is not on that issue. Worst update or rather the best? If the new cops cannot start copping after they have passed/failed the test, what's wrong in it? It prevents the newbie cops from police rulebraking. |

2500 Euros per year is the equivalent of losing 7 Euros on TC a day, I think you can handle it.

RE: Being a COP.
I do not agree with that Enty, I do not cop allot. Still I passed the test in one try. The med test I did failed.
For the cop test I just had a hour of reading the rules properly. I will agree its not easy, some stuff was new for me and with a big role playing change in the rules strictly necessary to test users of there knowledge of what is allowed in which role. |

RE: Being a COP.
The cop license test is way too easy, and should be made harder. I didn't read a single guide or rule before trying it and last time i read those things was over 6 months ago. Still passed it easily as the most questions were "what could possibly be the right answer?" AKA common sense questions. If you cant pass the test it proves you really should study the things well.
And i also suggest when taking the test, don't use guides during them. They are meant to test if you know the rules, not can you read them. In real situations you don't have that guidebook next to you |

I think it differs on the country, but my dad was a cop a few years ago and they actually did have the handbooks for most of the rules and how to handle situations |

RE: Being a COP.
I feel the difficulty is pretty spot on at the moment, it is not meant to be a very hard test as it only covers theory. It is only there to make sure that the cops on the server are aware of the rules, so they avoid basic mistakes.

RE: Being a COP.
The training team recently became more strict with people reading the police guides.
Read them! They have tonnes of info and ALL of the answers needed. You may be a quick driver with many busts under your belt but are you a good cop? So many cops that have a good win to loss ratio yet they fail to abide basic rules. These new tests are a perfect difficulty, it's unfortunate for people with language barriers however, I'm sure that many of you get frustrated when a cop who should know how to be safe and how to handle situations but hits you head on or takes you out. If you have read and fully understood the guide, you should pass the police tests with a maximum of 2 mistakes. If not, go back and read it again. This new system will cut down the number of reports on cops, less work for the training team and for the admins and makes your playtime more enjoyable |
